Which game should I play next?

Working through my metroidvania backlog and these are the 3 titles I'm looking at taking on. I'll eventually get through all 3, but if one of them is worth playing sooner rather than later I'd appreciate suggestions.

Also, if you happen to have suggestions on steam titles I should add to my backlog I'll take them. Titles I've finished:
After Death
Aquaria
Axiom Verge
Castle in the Darkness
Cave Story+
DarkMaus
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Guacamelee
Hollow Knight
Iconoclasts
Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight
Ori and the Blind Forest
Outland
Shantae (all of them)
Timespinner
Touhou Luna Nights
Valdis Story: Abyssal City
Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap

Blasphemous is one of the better games I've played this year.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a great Metroidvania. In fact, its made by Koji Igarashi, so you know its good.

check it out.

Forgot about that one. I actually kickstarted it and played it on the PS4. Being lazy, I just scanned my steam games list for titles.

Great game, though. Very much a proper spiritual successor to SotN.

Monster boy for sure, what did you think of Dust: an Elysian tale? it seemed to get average reviews but I thought it was a fantastic game.

Death's Gambit couldn't hold my attention at all. Just get bored around the 2nd or 3rdboss every time.

Compared to more modern "this was made by one person" titles it is a bit rough around the edges in terms of art/music/dialogue, but the gameplay itself was great. Not many metroidvanias choose to go for that chaotic "enemies everywhere" style of combat. In retrospect maybe it was a tiny bit easy, but not so much so that it was distractingly so.

If you're a fan of that title, I highly recommend Muramasa: The Demon Blade (which unfortunately only ever released on the wii and PSP). Muramasa has that same feel in combat but with much higher production value.

I have played both Blasphemous and Death's Gambit and I'd probably give a slight nod to Blasphemous but I enjoyed Death's Gambit, too.

They both play off Dark Souls' mechanics, but Blapshemous' environments and set pieces truly bring the 2D Dark Souls vibe!

HADES must be added to your list and Salt and Sanctuary. I would put Salt over Blasphemous and Death's Gambit. Fucking great game.

Axiom Verge was stellar, as well!

Bloodstained is a solid mention.

Yes it is, I haven't played the sequels yet. Are they good?

Out of that list I've only played Blasphemous, but I'll still cast a vote for it.

A huge fan of Supergiant games, but was waiting on Hades to be "done". But it keeps getting mentioned so I might have to just cave because I know I'll like it.

Salt and Sanctuary I grabbed on the PS4. A true 2d soulslike for sure.

Would recommend you add Severed to your list to play. It's sort of like an RPG/Metroidvania? It's kind of unique I suppose.

I very much enjoyed Blasphemous. I don't often comment on themes/motifs in game art direction, but I dig its (I assume Catholicism-inspired) art direction.
