I could have sworn something like this was what made JK Rowling lose her mind and turn into a TERF. If a company is putting this out it might imply growing acceptance of trans individuals, which is a good thing,

Took me a second because I forgot about female to male transmen.

I wonder if those that spoke out against it thought about them. Hmm

Figured we had a "gender is not sex" shift to separate the two, but now it seems we've gone to "ok they're the same thing in the context of humans (which is socially constructed), but not in terms of other animals", so female is both sex and gender now.
It's not very complicated. Both gender and sex are social construct created by us, humans. They are not the same but they commonly overlap, so when people use the word "female", especially in everyday use, you can't be sure if they're referring to sex or gender. You also can't be sure that they even know the difference, because the two constructs have been conflated for a long time.

And not all trans guys have gotten a hysterectomy, or have been able to stop their periods. I know certain methods work better than others, but I know my bf has had to get depo shots every few months in addition to hormones in order to get it to stop.

We're talking about m2f trans people. For example Caitlyn Jenner if she was younger.

How can a trans person like that have a period? Genuinely curious?

Caitlyn Jenner is a woman.

The statement is "Not all women have periods".

The point is that individuals who identify as male can have female reproductive organs and therefore experience periods.

Since Jenner is a woman the message doesn't really apply to her.

This is a really strange gotcha attempt. Even if you could somehow show someone said that, what would it actually show? Would it somehow invalidate that trans individuals can have periods?

Why would you call a trans woman "a m2f trans"? That's a very weird way to refer to someone.

Male and female work just fine. My point is that you can't necessarily infer what people mean, because there's a lot of conflation and overlap between gender and sex.
