Why not?what he was describing there is absolutely not either the policy nor the messaging of so-called moderates, if we take that to mean the likes of biden, clinton et al, who promise continued foreign adventurism and appeasement of neoliberal interests which drove the country into the mess that it's in now what he was describing is a humble and humane retreat by the US from its seat as global hegemon, an approach offered only by sanders (although it's worth noting that hedges didn't support sanders per se) the point is that decline is happening and inevitable, and there is a choice in how to deal with that fact ... Some good stuff but this definitely is not from 2003. He mentions Obama winning the presidency several times, and the book he is discussing in this talk was published in 2009.
