Yeah that's the main issue with all of the nostalgic memories you have of a different time.

Like if you miss college, same issue.

We had 'sand rock wars' which was there was this harder layer of sand under the top layer that you could carve into chunks and throw at each other. They would explode into dust on impact

They did that pretty much everywhere.

Ours had a sweet tire swing. Always a few kids who got hurt, but it's a part of growing up.

the wooden death trap playground at my elementary school got removed but honestly it's probably for the best, that thing was legitimately unsafe. it was actually two different play structures right beside each other (both fairly tall for little kids) but not connected at the top. except if you're playing tag, and someone chases you up one, who cares if they're not actually connected of course you're gonna climb over the railing and jump to the other one

no one ever got seriously injured falling off it from what I remember but I'm sure the structure having any fall risk at all was not great
