Supply drops down.

Now it is going for hundreds or thousands on ebay.

In the same way nazi paraphernalia is.

That is my point.

What makes something a collector item is rarity.

If everyone kept their hat, value would be low.

If trashed/destroyed, one day they will be rare.

most hats will get thrown away so yea, maybe the remaining ones will have some collectors value but most people will not want to own one anymore. so it will be hard to find a buyer.

I predict most republicans will try to distance themselves from Trump after he falls from power, and they will try to deny they ever liked him or try to make excuses. but nobody will want to stand by him anymore.

I kept my stimulus debit card and the accompanying letter because I can see that being a collector's item or valuable in the future, and its something that reflects the rare period we are living through

Exactly; that's my point about Nazi Paraphernalia; itll have historic value, but the people that buy it wont display it proudly unless they're idiots.

You are still thinking near term.

In 20 years, a fresh 25 year old billionaire will not want to collect a rare expensive hat that is iconic for a period of American politics?

Then you have to consider museum displays. But that is more like 50 years from now. Which as pointed above is the same as say Nazi paraphenelia. Museums for one want those if they have WWII displays.

If his base is alot of boomers, they will pass in 10-20 years and the hats go in the dumpsters.

But I guess that gives time to collect any for future sale if you want.

It might end up being a collectors item regardless, however, don't expect a $100,000 to 1 million dollar MAGA hat unless it was worn by Trump and it had a valid certificate of authenticity and/or signed by Trump.
