I have very strong feelings on this, but I'll just say that I wouldn't wish the burden of existence on my worst enemy.

I'll probably donate sperm or something just so I have a loophole out of the guilt of ending my bloodline but I have zero interest in raising a child. Probably selfish but there's simply too much else I'd rather do with my life and I'd rather not devote most of my remaining years to such an overwhelming singular project.

I used to think life was torture, but i think the whole time the rough part was just being poor and trapped.

So i could see myself having kids if i knew they'd be okay, even if they wanted to be underwater basket weavers or whatever

I will probably adopt someday.

Can't have kids of my own, so the ethics of bringing a life into the world are something I'll never have to grapple with.

My gf and I talk about it regularly, and have decided that we absolutely intend to, but understand it's for entirely selfish reasons. We're knowingly planning to bring a child/children into a world on a climate timeline with various other catastrophes occurring or likely to occur that would be a miracle to survive and a burden to live through to say the least. Yeah, it's pretty fucked up to do that, but for what it's worth, we think we could produce children that could think critically and perhaps bring solutions to some of the problems facing humanity.

Probably not at this point. I used to want a family and kids but later realized I was gay and that kinda changed my perspective and feelings on the subject. Plus dealing with other people's kids has turned me off. It's still not 100% off the table but if I did, I think I'd adopt because we need less people on the planet, not more and I'm not that selfish.

All that catastrophe crap is extremely exaggerated. Your grandparents lived through world wars, FFS. Your children will be way better.

I don't have any and I don't want any. However the missus does so I'll probably eventually end up having 1 or 2 I imagine.

It's strange because there's no limit on the amount of animals I'm willing to help and I devote a significant chunk of my free time to helping out shelters and rescues but with kids the responsibility seems too big and too restricting
