This time with Achievement Hunter and Ryan Haywood. Apparently dude was cheating on his wife with fans that were possibly underaged. The other AH guys are so upset and angry that not only have they said he's never coming back (Jack Patillo called him a monster), but they're going to scrub every video he's in. Which is insane because he was one of the original core six guys on AH. In fact it means that 3 of the original 6 are largely gone (Ray left in 2015 and Geoff apparently doesn't do videos anymore).

I know most here won't know who I'm talking about but I used to be huge into AH until Ray left so this is pretty sad.

I've only been paying attention to them recently; I was going through a lot of AH's old gameplay videos for fun. But I did hear about this story. Pretty gross. I didn't know they were going to take out the videos though. He's been in a huge number of these.

Adam Kovic of Fumhaus also got fired for sending pics and a sex tape out. Some of the pics were taken in the office.

For Ryan the fans were mostly 18-19 but a few were 17 at the time. He was also being very manipulative towards the fans and in multiple cases took off the condom in the middle of sex without permission.

From what I saw of Jack and Michael's update they arent scrubbing him out of everything. But anything that they find inappropriate or uncomfortable in hindsight will be edited or removed. And they will never talk about him again.

And geoff isnt in videos much because he took a higher position in the company and isnt part of AH anymore.

In most cases they were above legal age of consent for the area. But one was in CA where its 18 and in TX while consent is 17 sending or receiving pornagraphic images is 18 so he would be on the hook for those.

I think Ryan is at 9 or 10 accusers now, most of which have very credible proof. Just reading some of the stuff he said to the 17 year old in particular is extremely gross. He's a sick dude.

Apparently he wasn't incredibly well liked before this behind the scenes too. Rahul Kohli (iZombie, The Haunting of Bly Manor, etc.) said he refused to stop being a part of whatever show Ryan was a part of entirely because of him.

Edit: From what I can tell, Rooster Teeth is a fucking disaster anymore. They have had multiple cases of misconduct like this, and other people with issues, and the management system seems all jacked up.

Yeah, Ive been following this for the last couple of weeks. For the record, theyre not scrubbing every video, as that would easily be 70% of their content, just videos where hes a focus and any video that gets reported as being a bit disturbing with the recent context. For example, I believe theyve already removed an Off-Topic episode where they discuss how Ryan would always stay in hotels an extra day whenever they went anywhere for Lets Play Live.

But yeah, pretty gross. I think something like 14 people have come forward, some who were only 17 at the time, and apparently he was using money he got from Twitch subs to fly them to Austin and book them hotel rooms, money he told his Twitch viewers was going towards his kids college funds.

Also, Adam Kovic from Funhaus got fired at the same time. He was sending nude pics to a supposed fan (apparently it was a catfish pretending to be a woman, not underaged) which included photos in the Funhaus office and also videos of his wife which looked to have been taken in secret.

Nah, that was Adam Kovic from Funhaus. Lawrence also alluded to Adam being hard to work with and apparently reported him before for never washing his hands after using the bathroom.

Rooster Teeth has been on a bit of a streak lately, they went through some discussions about race because I think they only have like 1 non-white person as a featured employee in content or something from what I can remember which is pretty wild, Fiona and she was still a recent-ish hire. She hosted some talk with Geoff or something about it I think I remember seeing.

Very wierd to think about, because I used to watch a ton of Minecraft AH stuff years ago, but as of right now the only Roosterteeth content I have seen for the last couple years in any format is RWBY.

Did he voice any characters in that? I know they already had the situation there where they gave Vic Mignona the boot, but he wasn't an RS employee obviously.

Ryan was probably my least favorite personality in those Minecraft videos in general, IIRC.

I've honestly been really torn up about this since I found out early last week. I've been periodically checking b8 to see if a topic would go up about this, but haven't been able to bring myself to make the topic myself.

And at this point the best (and only) defense he has is that it seems like the possibly one instance where the girl was 17 was a situation where she lied and said she was 18, but even that is no defense at all. It's a sickening pattern of predatory behavior and abuse of power and it's been happening for years. I'm just all out of sorts.

AH/RT has had to cancel or change up a lot of their programming since last week and they haven't had much officially to say other than "2 people were fired", but there was a short response video from Jack and Michael a couple days ago. I can't get through even a little without tearing up.

Nah, theres been at least one other girl who was 17 who told him she was in high school, but he never asked her age and afterwards, when she said she was 17, he didnt seem to care, allegedly.

Also, before he deleted all his social media accounts, multiple girls have posted screenshots of messages from him begging them not to say anything publicly and to think of his kids. Dudes a scumbag.

Oh I'm fully aware he has STILL been contacting some of them and begging them to keep quiet, going so far as to threaten to kill himself. I didn't know there had been any 17 age confirmation outside of the one case where one of the girls said she was 18 and wasn't though, so that one is new to me.

This is the first one of these streamer scandals that actually involves someone I liked and watched before now.

I was really only watching AH's TTT videos with any bit of consistency anymore, but still. I would not have guessed this and I'm a bit crushed, but fuck him.

Even if I didn't watch them anymore, they were from the era of LPs before streaming took over as the standard and I stopped caring (would say SBFP splitting was the day it was pretty much done for), so this is still fairly depressing.

I can count the number of stream LPers I can even tolerate listening to on one....finger. Vinesauce is basically the only one lol.

Rock, do you listen to F**k Face? It's the newish podcast between Geoff, Gavin and Andrew Panton and it's fantastic. I'm honestly so happy with how Geoff has thrown himself into self improvement and really seems to have made some positive strides in his life. I don't know too much about what fell apart between him and Griffon, but he still seems to have a good relationship with his daughter and is just generally healthier all around.

Though I am worried about how the Ryan situation has affected him and how much guilt and responsibility he feels he has for hiring Ryan in the first place.

Meanwhile Michael's transition from Rage Quit to Father of Two over the years has been nothing if not heartwarming. Between as transparent as he and Lindsay have been about their personal lives I would be shocked if Michael even had the amount of free time necessary to be a terrible person the way that Ryan was.

Transparency yeah, but the time thing applied to Ryan just as much as any of them. When you look into how far the extent of this go - we're talking potentially over thirty victims - it's mind-boggling that he found the time to be a serial predator in between work, family, and streaming.

oh that's nice to hear, I haven't seen anything with Fiona in recently since I don't watch everything from the company but I remember how horribly people were treating her when she first started. Her early videos were a little rough trying to gel with the rest of the crew but she seemed cool enough, but not being the best at games plus being a female just sets fandoms like this off. Seems like she's found a spot with the podcasts and such too from what I've seen, which is cool. Hopefully the RT fandom likes her more than they did earlier, I know Lindsey went through the same thing too.

Ray suffers from a thing a lot of streamers suffer from (Jeremy as well) where they spent 75 % of their stream thanking the people donating and subbing.

And I get that on some level, but damn, is that in no way whatsoever worthwhile content.

Yeah...that Off Topic is a tainted now though because it contains a segment where everyone wonders about why Ryan always takes an extra day off when they travel, and brush it off as him wanting a bit of extra alone time. The extra 'day off' they were pondering matches up with one of the victim's reported dates of meeting up with Ryan.

Ray has pretty strong chat interaction and I think that's something that gets lost in the youtube highlight videos. But my enjoyment of his streams vary greatly depending on how I feel about the game. But then I'll typically just pick and choose a game that I like and watch the twitch VOD. His South Park Fractured, But Whole playthrough was enjoyable, for example.

Even beyond the "thanks for the sub" which he does a good job of speeding through, he'll actually carry conversations with regulars from his chat and I think that goes a long ways to having a good twitch community.
