Why is death/day remain so low? Is it reporting? Combination of more widespread testing, the virus potentially being LESS widespread, and better ability to treat patients. More widespread testing increases the likelihood that asymptomatic or mild cases are tested. These increase the total cases, but aren't likely to result in death. Originally testing was only being done in the most severe cases (i.e. people going to the hospital) so the rate of death per case was higher back then. More widespread testing now also means that it's possible that the virus is less widespread than it used to be, even if cases are relatively high. We just weren't able to fully understand its spread earlier on. --- Take me for what I am -- who I was meant to be. And if you give a damn, take me baby, or leave me. ... Copied to Clipboard!
