That his only concern is self interest, having his ego massaged and creating a cult of personality.

If that means endorsing messed up politics then he'll do it. But I think he could have just as easily tried to run as a democrat if he thought he could win.

He couldn't have won as a democrat though. The vast majority of his votes come from people that enjoy his racism, or people so stupid they think Republicans are always the choice God wants us to make

Trump would have been out early in the democratic primaries.

That's his point tho. He picked the side solely because he had an angle to manipulate them.have you ever seen a more manipulated support group in politics?

He doesn't. Trump is stuck in a very low stage of human development.

That's what I mean yeah. He wouldn't have won easily as a democrat or at all, but in Trump's head the decision could have easily been made if whoever he hired to analyse his chances had said democrat.

I think he has a pretty clear belief system that dovetails nicely with conservative beliefs about hierarchies in society. There are elements of his agenda that stem from the people he's surrounded himself with, but he really does believe all that dumb bullshit about law and order.

yes, if he saw the Democratic party as a means to his end then he'd embrace it.

you nailed it in the OP: the only "ideology" he has is himself and enriching himself as much as possible. he is textbook definition of narcissistic personality disorder.

In a way I think that makes him more dangerous and unpredictable. You don't know what extreme idea or group he's going to embrace next. There's usually more stability with presidents and candidates.

Donald Trump is Homelander if Homelander was stupid, out of shape and had absolutely no charisma.

Dude thrives off of ego alone and goes along with whatever side will fuel it the most (which is Republicans, because they're too uneducated to see when they're being bamboozled).

Indeed. Biden comes across as an old man who while not malicious still harbors some stereotypes and biases from his time.

Trump comes across as maliciously racist. Trump wants to strengthen the racist and unaccountable police system we have now. He rejects immigrants, and his presidency happened in large part because his racist conspiracy theory about Obama. He dedicated his presidency to dismantling Obama's legacy regardless of whether or not it was an good idea. Because Obama was black and because Obama hurt his ego

Can we just agree that they're both at least a little racist? No one thinks either is gonna be the savior of the black community. Like every other election in history (save Obama), they're in a place where they gotta vote who they feel will cast them completely aside less.
