Was off for a few months, got a new job, dude was an asshole and a liar so i just told him fuckin lay me off or ill just do whatever I want. lol. I knew he couldnt fire me cause he was a joke and I coulda fucked him with wcb and more if I had to. He was such a dick. BUt anyways then I had a couple more months off and now I make high end custom furniture. No working outside for the winter! Only downside is I make so much less than I used to that Id be making the same on ei and I have 8 months left on my claim. But the good thing is the guy who owns it actually works there and he wants to retire next year so someone would have to move up to hios sons spot, which I could do in a year so. that would be alright. months left on my claim... so.... not sure why im doing it except I got offered a job and it felt right to take it. Plus the upside is the owner is retiring soon so his son will take overt and someone would have to replace his son, which'd be alright. PLus its super low stress and the entire 3 people who work there that aren't me are super laidback good guys so thats worth something for sure. I never even mentioned the last post covid layoff job so i'll rant a bit now.... dude lied about hours (only 40 hours I dont ask for overtime_ then we worked 7 days a week up to 14 hours a day till i started getting pissed then I got sundays off, and still worked 10-14. He paid me 2 bucks an hour less than he originally said he would, akways said he'd sort it out and didnt, and t"accidentally" forgot to add on the overtime rate. I finally went in one morning and told him lay me off rrght now, or give me my backpay and stop making getting paid a fight, and im taking weekends off. He was like "so you quit." I was like, "No I am getting laid off."So he tried to fire me.... you cant get ei in canada if youre fired or quit so I had to be laid off and fuck the satisfaction I got out of going off on that guy. I never go off on people almost but I fucking lost it. Told him Id report his work practices and bs to every fucking thing I could think of and hey I got laid off... lol. Money isn't everything when it comes to a job, especially if the job is stressful and you gotta deal with shitty people. PLus its super low stress and the entire 3 people who work there that aren't me are super laidback good guys so thats worth something for sure. I never even mentioned the last post covid layoff job so i'll rant a bit now.... dude lied about hours (only 40 hours I dont ask for overtime_ then we worked 7 days a week up to 14 hours a day till i started getting pissed then I got sundays off, and still worked 10-14. He paid me 2 bucks an hour less than he originally said he would, akways said he'd sort it out and didnt, and t"accidentally" forgot to add on the overtime rate. I finally went in one morning and told him lay me off rrght now, or give me my backpay and stop making getting paid a fight, and im taking weekends off. He was like "so you quit." I was like, "No I am getting laid off."So he tried to fire me.... you cant get ei in canada if youre fired or quit so I had to be laid off and fuck the satisfaction I got out of going off on that guy. I never go off on people almost but I fucking lost it. Told him Id report his work practices and bs to every fucking thing I could think of and hey I got laid off... lol. </quote> Congrats on the new job.
