...

...I'm glad this seemingly hasn't happened, if THAT'S the art direction they were going in.

When I signed on to helm this new show, I made a blood oath to my Dad that I would treat the Stooges brand like it was a newborn baby Faberg egg.
...then goes with generic "Calarts" look anyway

Even the low-effort cartoon from the 60s somehow had more effort.

Thank God it never happened with that hideous "art" style.

I remember seeing some of these on old cartoon tapes my dad bought us as kids. They didn't have any of the magic as the original shorts, because the Stooges in their resurgence of popularity due to TV airings of their shorts in the 60s had to tone down the slapstick because 1. Parents groups would have complained, and 2. They were getting way too old for their old antics.

But yeah, as cheaply-made as those cartoons were, they still looked better than what this shit looked like.

Ugh, they literally look like zombies, is that what they were going for?

I probably had the same videos, '50 Greatest Cartoons' or something like that. Exposed me at an early age to a lot of the classics that no one remembers: Casper, Little Audrey, the much-lauded Fleischer Superman serials, very early Bugs Bunny / Daffy Duck (back when the latter had a habit of shouting 'woohoo woo woo-hoo!'). Anyway, I remember those Three Stooges shorts being a part of the pack as well.

Yep. "50 Classics" or something like that. May have been a different compilation than the one you had, but I'm pretty sure all those cartoons were public domain, so they were likely packaged and sold under different titles by different companies.

You can do better than that. Nothing like that style.

No need to ask, apparently generic calarts is just Joe, therefore generic calarts is fantastic.

It looks like Chowder.

You'd think that someone associated with Superjail would have gone with Aubenblick's bizarre style.
