Granted, not the launch lineup. But certainly long-term. Microsoft's invested so much time and money into Game Pass Ultimate (integrating GP on PC, Xbox with Gold) with XCloud, then bought up a ton of important studios. They're making some really major power moves. I've expressed a lot of skepticism regarding them for a while now, but after trying to XCloud on my phone and seeing how it seamlessly integrates with everything else I have... I gotta say, they might be on to something with this "same ecosystem wherever you go" thing.

it's a savvy idea to build up their gamesharing infrastructure and become the Netflix of gaming. I worry that it's going to impact actual game ownership in the future, but at least Microsoft has a unified storefront under XBL, so they don't have to shutter services that aren't making money anymore *glares at Nintendo*.

Which means they'll own Atlus.

Arent Gamepass games only available for a year or two? PS Plus free games are available for as long as you have a PS Plus account, and they dont charge extra for the service like Microsoft does.

MS offers the same program with Games With Gold. 4 Free games a month as long as you have XBL.

just wait till MS jacks up the gamepass price in like 2 years

I've owned gamespass on PC for almost 2 years and haven't put more than 15 minutes in a single game other than Sea of Thieves and Metro Exodus.

The problem with gamepass is they don't have games I want to play on it, Xbox doesn't have exclusives I want to play on it, the games are old and I've already played them, or the games I do want to play get taken off GP before I get a chance to play them(Dead Rising 4)

I actually think the Xbox series X has a real shot at dunking on the PS5 the same way the 360 dunked on the PS3. At least for the first few years

You are getting PS Plus and PS Now confused with each other. Microsoft offers the same thing with Gold or Gamepass Ultinate which includes Gold, you get 4 free games a month.

The console market between Sony and Microsoft is roughly around 150-170m? Theres a lot of gamers out there that don't want to have to mess around with building a PC. Consoles, like digital games, is all about the convenience.

i think the series S being the cheapest next gen console (by quite a bit) is definitely going to help the series S, at least in the short run. Everyone who wants to buy the newest console for their kid or isnt a hardcore gamer will probably buy the cheapest version.

Additionally, it is probably going to come with a month of game pass or something. So you can buy just a console, no game, and your child already has plenty to play. And even if it doesn't have a month, you can play $15 or whatever for many games to play vs. $70 for a new title at launch.

If I was 10 right now, I would definitely be trying to convince my parents on the XSX and game pass. If this is my big Christmas gift, and say I will only be able to get one maybe one $70 game with it for quite a while, I would definitely go with the game pass option.

Its weird microsoft sent out a ton of preview XSX consoles and people getting info out about them, but the ps5 is still a mystery when it comes to basic UI and actual performance on top I just saw it only has 625gb of storage.
