Welcome to the King of Fighters 2020 (NOT MERCS) Simulated Character Battle Tournament!

The game is simple. The two* listed characters are placed in an (imaginary) location with a variety of (imaginary) environments, kind of like a picture in a child's schoolbook that describes different types of geological features. Within a ten mile radius, there is an (imaginary) urban downtown, exurbs, plains, snow-clad mountains at the edge, dry plains, etc. Fighters start wherever is most appropriate for them, but feel increasingly compelled to seek out their opponent and fight. Strong-willed fighters can try to hold out in their chosen environment for longer... eventually, all will succumb and actively search for the other to battle.

To participate, just vote in bold for whichever character you believe will win. Giving reasoning is optional, but please be polite and read what others have said and carefully make your decision. I'll ping the nominators (they can opt out) to give arguments if they wish.

Jack (of Jack and the Beanstalk/Jack be nimble fame) beat Death canonically in Fables by tricking him into being sucked into a sack. Death was cool with it since it gave him a day off and let Jack sleep with this girl he was supposed to kill for, like, a year in return.

DEATH's pretty good at making sure killed things are dead, but this is the most "go to the bar" kind of match possible. And if a loser like Jack can figure out something that constitutes a win, I see no reason that Bigby couldn't also.

Jack would actually be a really interesting entrant in this, especially after his film trilogy makes him effectively immortal.

Hmm.. the let him win clause... you know, I could see it, although I was really looking forward to arguing that Discworld Death could beat Supernatural Death due to experience. Discworld Death has beaten the aspect of Death before.

I was wondering about that one. It seems like it'd be in his favor, since he has the scythe and probably wouldn't be very pleased with a Death that kills for amusement. But he wouldn't be able to see Supernatural Death since he's immortal, right? Not sure if he would have a way around that.

Shonen, the thing is Death comes when someone's going to die, It'd be a unique situation where Death shows up, because Death has got to get rid of this other death. (that and I put discworld Death higher up, because he is the concept of Death for everything on the world, second to his boss, Azrael, the death of universes.) The book Reaper Man proves that he can fight his aspect as well.

But in the current fight, i'll accept Bigby just because of the reasonable situation, and I can make comparisons to someone that would end up in the same situation and didn't die in the books. Sir Samuel Vimes.
