Even Joe Rogan doesnt want any part of moderating a debate between President Trump and his Democratic challenger, Joe Biden, after Tuesdays contest turned into a free-for-all, with the candidates yelling over each other and swapping personal insults. The host of the popular podcast The Joe Rogan Experience quickly bowed out of contention when people online, including Trump, suggested he referee a debate. You dont need me to handle this debate, you need @johnmccarthymma, Rogan wrote on Instagram, referring to Big John McCarthy, a mixed martial arts fighter and referee-turned-broadcaster. McCarthy also turned down the possible political gig. Watching old men who really cant fight. Fight??? Oh that would be ugly, he posted on Twitter. Speculation over drafting another moderator gained steam after critics savaged Fox News Chris Wallaces handling of the debate and his seeming inability to get Biden and Trump to stick to their speaking time limits and to stop shouting over each other.

Tyler Cardon, CEO of conservative Blaze Media, floated Rogans name. Regardless who youre pulling for, I think we can all agree that Joe Rogan would do a much better job moderating this thing than Chris Wallace. #Debates2020, he wrote on Twitter.

Lol yeah, I thought at one point Wallace was going to deduct a point from trump during the debate. Biden did well, he didn't interrupt at all, it was really just trump being rude for an hour and a half, and biden had no choice at certain points to defend himself... Biden did really well honestly, I was expecting biden to talk about fairies and spaceships but he kept it together. Trump is a really mean guy though.

Of course Rogan doesn't acknowledge that Trump was the problem.

The problem was Wallace didnt know how to own the room. He should have never been the moderator . He was not ready for the role.

Because he doesn't want to be held responsible for making a right wing candidate look bad. He's under scrutiny now for handwaving the Proud Boys and he doesn't want to further hurt his image. It's all about the $$.

A vast majority of his audience is "apolitical" people who proudly agree with and back right wing populism every time because they think it makes them smart for "disagreeing with the hivemind." These people's brains are poisoned.

What else can you do in that situation though. He doesn't have the ability to cut the mics, and as a reporter that works for Fox News he damn sure can't tell the president to shut the hell up.

I don't think there are really any people who could have stopped Trump from interrupting, so I think it's unfair to fault Wallace; it's not like he didn't try.

The best solution is probably to simply mute the microphone when the other person is supposed to have 2 minutes of uninterrupted speech. Maybe don't even put them in the same room, just stream the debate in separate places so they can't distract each other in person during their supposed "uninterrupted" speech.

Yea those are good points. Maybe theres not much he could have done and muting mics would work. But I still feel like because that was his role, some of the blame for what happened last night rests with him.

This is what I was wondering. I dont know what he shouldve done or couldve done differently short of giving him the ability to cut mics. Which they should do.
