Cause the damn government is still giving out cheques. There are many jobs still looking to hire people and now people just wanna stay at home. It's a bit annoying. I've spoken with a few people in my small town and they are desperate to hire people for like construction general labour along with min wage type jobs.

These people sit at home pay low rent and just binge watch Netflix for dirt cheap. What a life!

Don't you need to prove you've still been furloughed in order to receive more CERB money these days? Just applying for it worked for a couple months, but if you've been getting it since April when it started you need to prove you can't work due to COVID stuff. There was like a 8000$ limit or something for CERB payments before you had to really prove you still needed it.

Basically everyone who can work remotely now does though, so that might be something making it look worse. Or maybe people in your town need to offer more money to get people to work during a health crisis.

I've had friends and relatives who've still been getting it after going back to work at reduced hours.

So if you're a part time worker and your hours aren't topping out and you make below a certain threshold you get a (smaller) pay out still I think

Problem with Muskoka is these young people in their 20s all want jobs paying like $30/h with full benefits. Not every construction company is that big to afford that. Most are small with typically no benefits. Then as the company grows they may get benefits. These 20 year olds think they are entitled to like the company truck the first month into the job when they haven't shown that they earned it. Also some companies tend to not grow cause they cater to people in the lower income bracket so doing a bathroom reno would be cheaper than hiring a company with bigger overhead.

Problem with the CERB is similar to people who play the welfare game.

Girl I'm seeing is a case worker in town here and she's got a bunch of stories of people being lifted up by it.

What 20 year old should get upper level??? Unless he has 3 or 4 years of training to drive a certain machine. General labour or carpentry is typically entry level. Most 20 year old carpenters aren't at the level of a 30 or 40 year old one due to experience.

Yea as a Canadian I know quite a few people who live off government assistance and even got cerb when they shouldn't of qualified for it.

Problem with CERB is if you got laid off like my ex-wife who worked part time making min wage as a secretary type job she shouldn't get CERB when Tims, McDs, Walmart, etc. are hiring. She thinks she's too good to work there.

I worked a full time office job making a decent salary and worked briefly part time at Walmart the weeks the kids are with her.

There's too much competitions and with the internet people shop around. If I can hire a mom & pop guy to come in to paint my house at cheaper why would I hire a corp company to come paint my house at 3 or 4 times the cost?
