Should this stank cop be fired for this?

Bodycam footage has revealed a Washington State Cop telling College Kids how to BREAK COVID-19 rules after they were seen flouting social distancing rules and said "the key is out of sight, out of mind" advising them to move their maskless parties INDOORS so they can avoid penalties and not have the whistle blown on them!!

Pullman police were called to reports of ap arty in the driveway of WSU Women's Basketball Coach Kamie Ethridge's home as it shows the cop letting them off on avoiding the rules while giving them "expert" advice on how to avoid not getting caught again

This came as cases were spiking in Whitman County following the return of Washington State University students in the area

The male cops is seen speaking to students after a call was made with an outdoor tent and people drinking beer while not wearing masks

Washington Governor Jay Inslee banned all gatherings of 10 or more and Pullman Chief, Greg Jenkins said on Aug 27 that officer would slap a fine for offenders

He vowed to fine the party host of 250 on the first offense, 350 for the second and to charge repeat offenders of misdemeanor

The cop is offering tips on how to skirt the rules and he says "I'm going to give you the same advicei give everybody else, okay? We're pretty much in between a rock and a hard place when it comes to the community and stuff like that. Really the key is out of sight, out of mind. We're taking an education approach the best way we can. Unfortunately, our directive is to write tickets of those who aren't abiding by that because there's been a massive public outcry because we're doing that with all of the students on the hill. So if we can't see you do it, we don't know you're doing it".

Jenkins condemned the officer's messaging and said it was inappropriate and reviewed other bodycam footage and hadn't seen anything like that from him

Ethridge says she apologizes for breaking the rules and insists it wasn't a get together and didn't host the party but said as the owner of the property she was responsible for maintaining proper social distancing and mask wearing

Do you think this officer should be fired?

Not bad advice, just not the advice cops should be giving. However, as the cop notes, cops are being put in a bad place where they're being forced to burn bridges in the communities they protect.

All I have to do is drive 80 in a 45 zone and there, breaking the law. (I dont know if my pickup can go 80 anywhere though.)

Not bad advice

"If you ignore public health directives but avoid getting caught while doing so, nothing bad will happen to you" is absolutely bad advice. Police should not be undermining the advice of public health agencies, to say nothing of undermining themselves by explicitly encouraging people to be sneakier about breaking the law.
