You have to consider that a lot of people had invested so much into the Steam ecosystem that their entire library/friend list/PC experience is there and having games exclusively on other launchers in PC basically means they have to be dragged screaming and kicking out of Steam for those games, and anything less than what Steam provides will make them complain, with a vocal minority being especially petty about it. At least I recognize that, ultimately, my opinion about the EGS doesn't make a lick of difference, as people will keep going on it and using it and playing the games they want to play however they can. I don't think Steam is perfect and we've had to beat Valve into submission in the past (such as when they tried introducing paid mods for games like Skyrim). At least they moved quickly to appease their audience and fixed the issues.
