Very hit or miss. Lots of games have people who quit immediately if they're not the imposter.

Randoms are hit or miss and usually miss. In a full game of 10, at least one will drop out right away because they weren't chosen to be an imposter. The discussions aren't as in depth either. To be fair, for phone users it can be tough especially if the discussion / voting times are set too low. Then there's the bizarre logic behind their decisions in which they jump onto the first accusations.

However, it's not all bad. Those that are actually into the game will often stick around for future matches while those not will leave fast. Also, because you don't know them and vice versa, it can be tough to pick up on a stranger's tells. It's nice to gel with a stranger fast over something as simple as basic teamwork.

Then there's the possibility you fall into a group that's awesome. My very first match was with such a group. There were about 8 of us in total so we did have some random people come through, but not a big deal. We all got along so well, we played for 3 hours straight and shared friend IDs to set up future games.

Of course, playing with 9 friends is always going to be the better option. More so if you can do phone chat through discord as listening to people try to lie or even being honest adds a new dimension to the game over typing words.

They added time penalties for disconnecting

But on the flip side we had someone last night call an emergency meeting at the start to say racist shit so hed get kicked. I suspect he wanted impostor and wanted to bypass that timer

I forgot about this---there's still the occasional player who will hit the button at the very start of the game. Granted, I do get a chuckle when they try the "how come X vented? I'm clicking on the vent but it's not letting me do it like X" and then everyone votes on X. >_<

I had a game where it was someone's first time playing and they were selected as Imposter. Nearly all the tasks were done and not one person died (5 player game) with no sabotages. When one person was asked what tasks they had left, they replied with "what are tasks". It was nice as everyone helped him out with the game mechanics, showed him how to sabotage and murder as well as use the vents.

Those victories feel so hollow. Like when you get a 10 player game with 2 killers, but 4 people drop out. It really isn't fair.

I got about 15+ hours with all randoms.

It's definitely a mixed bag. If you go into a lobby and see it's terrible or whattjust lobby hop until you see a group of people (even 3-5) taking it seriously and weed out the cancerous people. Eventually it fills in with other good people. After that it can definitely be fun.

worst part about randoms is you dont know who is using voice chat and ruining the experience. It fucking sucks when youre the imposter you kill someone and they tell their friends via voice chat, discord whatever.

Highly recommend avoiding randoms and finding ten friends to play with. Or get on a good discord server, get to know people, then join their sessions etc.

I've never been the impostor in that situation, but I've been a crewmate and got the suspicion that my teammates were using discord. They'd all decide on someone without saying anything in the text chat.

Among Us with your friends brings out the worst in everyone ngl
