I can probably make a case for each one except MG36. You could also just get the icon and pull most of these during a general rate-up. MG36 will come around again as an event drop at some point. Whatever you do, don't rush your decision. You still have plenty of time before the True Core Mask expires.

-MG5 is one of the original Big 4. She's a great first volley MG for general use. The downside is that MGs have become more niche and her role is ageing somewhat but I think she's still pretty useful. She's pretty easy to get in crafting though.

-PA-15 has a skill that stuns an enemy in a different way than flashbangs. It's still a bit wonky and very niche in use but could be worth having on hand for later.

-MG4 sucks as a MG but she's kinda rare in crafting, probably 2nd to Negev. She is used to buff SG armor with her tiles (not so much anymore though, with better MGs that buff armor to choose from). Up to you if she's worth that or not.

It's not in every map for the chapter; you'll get a break on the last combat map with no train to worry about. There's also a minigame battle you have to go through in the middle of the chapter. Other than that, you'll either be fighting while the train supports KCCO enemies (not all the time but the cannons have a lot of range) or you'll be fighting the train cannons themselves (two maps). If you're fighting under the guns, there are ways to avoid getting blasted.

I know that feeling. I've been doing tons of heavy equipment production everyday. But the main resource sink I did was I was 15 away from getting this fairy to 5* so I calibrated the fairy I just produced until the talent matched. I had really bad rng.

Sort of. There are no real "go here and do this to win" kind of guides but rather a lot of info to help you piece together what you'll want to be doing. The big thing about ranking maps, prizes aside, is that it's the place where you can go all out and test yourself. The good thing about the ranking map this time around is that the objectives are pretty simple. Most of your time will probably be spent in the early turns, getting set up and such, while the last several turns are just about killing as many enemies as you can and keeping enemy heliports unclogged.

A guide for normal ranking, if all you want is to get 500k+ points for the fairy. It's not really meant to be followed 1:1 due to enemy movement RNG but to give you a rough idea of what you'll want to be doing. The main idea here is that you'll be "silver medal-ing" the map, capturing all of the nodes on the map instead of killing as many enemy spawns as possible like you would otherwise be doing.

So I'm trying to beat the Gustavs in 5-6, but I dont have taunt fairy. Using Kord, Negev, MH2B, and the two SGs you get from SL clear.

I do have a twin fairy, should I use that? Or just get a damage buff fairy or something instead.

I can beat the first two Gustavs but then get beaten by the third one.

Maybe. If you keep an eye on the older servers' announcements, just one will do, you'll know what's coming down the pike. Since that doesn't cover older content that hasn't yet appeared on EN, there are also skin catalogues made by fans to look at so that you don't need to go looking in too many places for one set of info. I haven't looked at that stuff in over a year, so I don't know if it's up to date or not.

A free skin would be nice. Of course, if it's a re-run skin, a free Black Card is nice too!

I'm looking ahead at what to expect for Polarized Light's ranking map. It turns out that I was wrong and it's a daytime map after all! Here's what was pointed to me:

Main things seem to be: raise a Kord or two, get a Landmine Fairy or two*, get a Parachute Fairy as high as possible for declogging while debuffed, get a 5* Beach Fairy (prototype fairies will help).

Honestly, 1 Beach is probably fine. Itll probably be a hard requirement for top 100, but Id expect a pretty sharp cliff elsewhere since a lot of people will just nope out of fighting deathstacks altogether.

* One caveat to the Landmine use is that with the new client, all points gained are based on current CE. We abused this in Isomer against the supply line hydra deathstack, but JP has Isomer right now and noticed that it changed. If this change lasts until PL, the top ranks will go to the people who can fight deathstacks with as little help from Landmine as possible.

also i forgot to mention, there are supply lines near spawn that you need to hold for points. this is really easy to do but don't forget about them xd

mp5 mod has also became useful so grab her while your at it as well.

It looks like some players did just fine without the Beach Fairy so it's probably not a hard requirement but simply a recommendation. Regarding the Landmine Fairy, it's another recommendation but you won't absolutely need them at 5*s, although it helps. Just max out the skill and maybe raise it/them to 3*+ and you should be more than good. 3* is the usual minimum for fairies in hard mode ranking.

It took me a few tries to beat the minigame on hard. You really want to make sure you avoid taking damage in the first half of the fight as later on the boss has some attacks that are very hard to avoid completely.

With the True Core Mask? Since SGs are the most expensive unit to pull for and SAT8 is the best one in general, yeah, that's probably a good idea. Just make sure you cap her skill since that's where most of her utility comes from, aside from armor and HP.

I finished my ranking run as well with less than stellar results than I would have preferred. I would have tried a few more times but my rations, manpower, and fairy command points are tapped out. That was really painful to go through and I'm disappointed because I know I could have done much better. At least I'm not walking out of it empty-handed.

Looks like it's just tomorrow's crates and I'm done with this event. Gotta rebuild those resources and prep for the collab and Polarized Light! This time I need to really focus on enhancing my fairies.

-The Taunt Fairy drone can stall it for some time. Just make sure to clear the middle row to avoid its penetrating shot when it drops its shield. If you don't have a Taunt Fairy, use a really strong evasion tank with a good HP pool.
-M200 and/or any rifle with a skill shot will hit it with 100% accuracy when it drops its shield. It may take a few cycles.
-M82A1 (Inari) + one more rifle can kill in one cycle, as can Desert Eagle and two rifles.

I couldn't sleep last night, so I ended up doing a ranking run on hard since when I checked the ranking it was using my first hard run and not the 444K run from normal. Scored 511K so guaranteed a fairy at least.

Once I realize I could dodge that laser once the shield drops by having my main tank in the center front column and moving over to the next row and back to keep the laser targeting the center row helped a lot.

On the older servers, the next SF unit for capture is Agent!

Skill translations:
Tiles
Increase all allies' DMG, ACC and EVA
S1
Summon 3 clone reinforcements, each inheriting part of Agent's stats and possessing the same passive skills.
S2
Passive: When being supported by Fire Support Units or Coalition Units, increase the critical rate of all units and attack range of ranged units in Agent's echelon.
Active: Agent's echelon can be transported to heliports within the map, however the echelon's DMG/ACC/EVA/ARM will be massively decreased.
S3
Agent uses 4 machineguns to complete each round of attacks. Inflict stun and damage amplification to the target after a number of rounds.
S4
When allied units on the field die, increase self DMG.

She's effectively a mini Parachute Fairy with General Liu's skill

Got 365K on the ranking map by stalling until the supply line timer went out. Hopefully that's enough to get Lee's equipment. I also know why people hate those spider robots now, too -- almost impossible to kill once their power skyrockets to 70,000+ (even with max taunt fairy). I barely lost to one without a taunt fairy when it was at 40K power, but didn't want to restart my first run, so oops. :P

The final ranking results have been released as of this morning. Check the Rank button on your home screen and click on the Event tab. Rewards will be given out next week on Tuesday, after maintenance.

I know I could've done much better but my result at least wasn't terrible in the big picture (far from it). I made a lot of really stupid mistakes and that inspired me to do better in PL's ranking. I really want to make the Top 100 leaderboard next time. I feel pretty confident I can at least do that once I get my fairies powered up and study some of the top players' runs on the older servers.

Ended up running it on the last day,which is almost always a recipe for failure.
I keep forgetting that, since I'm doing this on mobile, there's a large amount of lag and disconnects to deal with that add more time to each run that really adds up, on top of handling everything in the map itself.

I did my run on EX, and while the ELIDs and Paradeus didn't give me too much trouble, I found that I couldn't handle the KCCO enemies,at least while under enemy Gustav support. I tried following one of the guides but must have had something go wrong, as I couldn't get my MGHG parachute team in to kill the cannon in the first place. I feel that was the biggest reason why I didn't rank higher.

Second would be failing to kill the ~94k Failed Isomer, which I think would have put me just over the top too. Not too sure why my strategy didn't work; I even tested it out in target practice first to get a feel for how the fight would go.

I'm worried the the next ranking will be out of my reach since I don't have Beach Fairy, so killing the deathstacks that will be in the next ranking map will be more difficult that if I had it. Not to mention that is a daytime map, so everyone will be at full power, more or less, which means the cutoff for the next exclusive equip and the Fairy will be even higher.

It'd be nice if MICA would ever re-run ranking or put some of the older ranking rewards in the expedition shop,if they are unwilling to re-run ranking.

Sorry about the long rant, I burned my manpower and rations down to nothing, Mod3'd AS-Val and Hanyang Type 88 and still couldn't completely deliver. Ah well, I'll just have to struggle a little harder the next go-round.

It'd be nice if MICA would ever re-run ranking or put some of the older ranking rewards in the expedition shop,if they are unwilling to re-run ranking.

Sorry about the long rant, I burned my manpower and rations down to nothing, Mod3'd AS-Val and Hanyang Type 88 and still couldn't completely deliver. Ah well, I'll just have to struggle a little harder the next go-round.

Don't worry about it; I get what you mean. I had a similar experience. Frankly, I'm surprised I got the score I did, given how many mistakes I made and all the repairs, withdrawals, and redeployments I performed. ELIDs and Paradeus were pretty easy, except for the times when I forgot to bring an HOC into the fight on the Gundams and Dunkers. It's a good thing I watched that competition between the EN and CN players because I learned a good way to kite the dunkers so that I don't take any damage from their main attack.

The funny thing about the Isomer boss is that I thought the 154k Nyto boss was easier than the 96k one. In hindsight, that was probably because I knew what to do then and had a better formation before starting the battle. In the 96k boss battle, I had to move all my dolls at the start into place but in the second battle, I only had to move one doll. After that, it was a matter of paying attention to the Isomer mooks and wiggling my ARs to retarget them and get rid of them quickly. Mod3 AS Val works wonders here but only if you set up the echelon in a specific manner to maximize her potential.

With KCCO, the only real trouble I had was when the enemy was under Gustav support, and really just with the doggos + archers combination. I had trouble against the Minotaurs in the campaign but they weren't too bad in the ranking map because it was just them. Even with them under Gustav support, I didn't take too much damage.

Regarding ranking reruns, the older servers have had reruns of ranking maps before (Arctic Warfare through Singularity so far) and they have stated in QnA sessions that reruns on our server are on the table but only after we are sufficiently caught up to the older servers, which should happen next year. The rerun maps are rebalanced to be more challenging, so expect that. Since the ranking maps from Isomer forward already have multiple difficulties, I don't know if that rebalancing trend will continue past Continuum Turbulence or not. I have no clue if they'll make the ranking rewards available through other means but, in a CN stream, Yuzhong said he doesn't want any non-collaboration content to go extinct and they're exploring other options to bring that stuff back for players who missed it. I have my ideas on how they could do it, at least.

If you don't have the Beach Fairy, I heard that you can raise a Landmine Fairies or two in its place. You won't get the same amount of points, since mining the deathstacks reduces their CE and thus the points, but it's better than nothing at all and you still get the deathstacks out of the way.

The January roadmap is out!



-The silhouette in the Neural Upgrade slot looks like LWMMG, a hotly anticipated upgrade because she's another top-notch mod.
-Chapter 12 brings a new grinding map for EXP and cores that makes both 0-2 and 10-4e obsolete.
-QLZ from Theater seasons 3 & 4 is the third HOC that can cap all stats on the chip board (the only other two are AGS and M2).
-Theater season 3 also marks AT4 entering the Intelligence pool, if you still need central data to get the HOC to 5*s.

12-2: Level 80+; 01:30:00; 360 manpower; 120 parts (2nd best per hour for manpower)
