Antifar 09/21/20 7:34:33 PM #1:	It has flaws, to be sure, and the structure compounds those flaws by making certain shines required for completion (looking at you, manta ray!). But the moveset it gives Mario, and the way the game actually requires you to make the most of that moveset (unlike Odyssey) is really good. Jabodie 09/21/20 7:44:09 PM #7:	My other gripe actually is that I have be very conscious to avoid accidentally being in the "turn around" state for the side flip. Doing this on accident when I want to turn around and jump normally probably accounts for a large portion of my deaths in the platforming stages. You just had to lightly hold down the right trigger so you could run and gun. It's actually even easier. The trick is to realize that the water blasts from the Hover Nozzle count as attacks as well. Just equip the Hover Nozzle, then go to the beach(where the mantas can't leave electric goop because, surprise surprise, there's water over it) and just keep hovering non-stop, using the sea as your water supply. You now have infinite water, the mantas are physically incapable of attacking you while you're airborne(which you will be 90% of your time) and blasting them from above, and you're in the one place where the electric goop can't even exist in. Its biggest problem was following up Super Mario 64, a completely revolutionary game for the franchise with a game that had a few rough edges. On the surface it had less environments, slightly better graphics, a controversial water pack mechanic, a controversial new character (baby bowser), Yoshi utilized in a disappointing way again, a couple dodgy areas and way too many blue coins But in hindsight it was a really high quality game still, no question, and tbh with the benefit of looking back it, Fludd was a cool diversion. Sunshine levels are huge and sprawling and they mostly (in so far as I've played it) focus on the stupid water canon gimmick. At first I just assumed Nintendo had finally improved their camera from the choppy mess in 64, to what it ought to have been.
