Is that so? What effect will saying "okay so this black woman was executed by the state and that's perfectly fine, seems good to me" have?
You can take a stance without torching a city.

Doubtful since it was mass rioting after George Floyd's murder that put reforms on the table that a year ago would never have even been considered.

How far have these reforms gotten? Saying is different than doing. I doubt anything will actually change.

It wasnt the colonists tea though...it was British tea. The equivalent would be if the colonists had started burning each others crops and stores and saying it was because they werent happy with how the British were treating them.

She was shot and killed in the crossfire of her boyfriend and cops.

Cops that were in plain clothes.
That had a no knock warrent.
That claimed they knocked and annoucned themselves.
Who arrested her boyfriend for standing his ground.
Who tried to get him to lie and say his girlfriend was connected to drug dealers.
Who's body cameras were not working.
And who found no drugs or drug paraphernalia in the home.

You forgot the part where the boyfriend shot at the police first.

Honestly, it's a mess.

The warrant was legal - that is the biggest problem. IF the warrant was not valid, then they might have a chance.

The problem is that the officers fired back at Taylor's boyfriend who shot at them - missing and hitting Taylor.

I don't think the officers SHOULD be charged, however, policies need to change - having to announce a warrant and disallowing plain-clothes officers from taking part would've prevented this.

It's not a mess.

Either they had a no-knock warrant and still claimed they knocked on the door and announced themselves as police, which even the neighbors are claiming they didn't hear that.

Or they had a knock-and-acknowledge warrant in which they still used a battering ram to get inside the apartment.

I feel like this is a "just in case" because they don't know how the verdict will go, but they know if it's not guilty, people are going to riot.

The police chief shouldn't be able to know the verdict ahead of time, so I don't think this is necessarily an indication that the cops won't be charged.

Somehow, I came across a leaked police report.

https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/63943132/breonna-taylor-summary-redacted1

From what I'm reading (which I'm halfway through), Breonna's car was implicated in an unresolved homicide case back in 2016. The victim was an associate of her baby daddy and boyfriend at the time. Fast forward to 2020, the detectives have been investigating her now ex-boyfriend for narcotics trafficking and received search warrants to do a bust on multiple houses in connection to him. They received a bank statement of the ex-boyfriend's from Chase and it connected him to Breonna's house. The detectives and the SWAT team did a simultaneous bust on multiple locations. At Breonna's house, she was with her new boyfriend when they starting slamming on the door. They didn't announce who they were, and barged in. Her boyfriend shot at them and this was the shootout that ended in the tragedy as Breonna was standing in the hallway at the time.

What was the story that was circulating and what can they get the police on? I haven't paid attention to the story till now. But the police report is super interesting and this could easily be adopted into a movie.

This is just the grand jury's decision, which is to determine whether or not to bring charges against them. There will still be a trial to get through if this isn't botched.

Any Officer serving a warrant in plain clothes should be treated exactly the same as a random person kicking your door down.

Plain clothes Police should have zero legal protection. If they are not in full uniform they relinquish any and all authority, and protection.

If he killed those officers it wouldve been 100% justified for the simple fact that it was a warrant served both in plain clothes and incorrectly and that the officers were acting recklessly and ended up killing an innocent.

Didn't read through the whole topic so sorry if they've already made the decision and shit is going down already:

In Omaha, the city prepared for riots last week prior to the grand jury announcement on Jake Gardner. Barricades set up, police all over downtown. Based on that preparation, everyone sort of assumed that the city and police knew the GJ was going to let him off. But they charged his ass and no rioting happened. Maybe that's gonna happen here.

This. If you are in the military and you are caught out of uniform and without insignia committing acts of war, the rules that govern treatment of combatants do not apply to you. The same standard should be applied to cops.
