Police said officers received reports on May 13 that a truck driven by Saldivar was traveling through the Prescott area at speeds of 100 mph (161 kph) at times.
They said Saldivar then attempted to hit a police car with his truck. The officer fired his weapon, hitting Saldivar and the truck. The truck continued and hit another car, injuring a woman who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Why was he doing that in the first place?

Daniel Shaver I think is who you mean. He was shot in a hotel hallway trying to fulfill a bunch of weird commands from cops. He was super drunk and unable to do everything they wanted

Also worth mentioning the cop had artfully engraved his patrol rifle with the words "you're fucked"

And he retired from the force after claiming ptsd and gets $2,500 disability pension a month for the rest of his life.

And that's actually the cheaper option since they might have to pay him more if he decided to sue for wrongful termination.

i honestly don't like dogs on the police force to begin with except for sniffing purposes. It puts them needlessly in harms way and they can't exactly give consent.
