I was hoping for a more faithful version of Hercules (Heracles). I watched it recently for the first time and it's pretty bad, there's no balance between drama and comedy. Almost every scene is either played for laughs or immediately followed by Eddie Murphy saying something dumb. Totally ruins any emotional impact in a way I've not seen in any other film.
