Lifetime is known to have more diverse films with various ethnic leads compared to Hallmark which is still expanding it's diverse lineup of original movies with african american leads and even gay leads But asian representation was still under the radar from both networks as now that has changed this christmas for an asian american cast. Canadian actors 31 y/o Jacky Lai and Tony Giroux will be the lead in the film with Mulan's Tzi Ma playing the father of one of the leads. It was be titled A Sugar & Spice Holiday about a young architect who returns to her Maine hometown for Christmas to visit her Chinese-American parents, Pete and Mimi who run a local lobster bar as she bumps into her old boyfriend and battle out in a cooking competition.. The film will also be directed by an asian director and will film in Vancouver, Canada.
