Target says my order shipped today but it also says to expect it on October 2nd. Wtf, I pre-ordered it like an hour after that direct and it's shipping from my local Target.

Hopefully the info in that e-mail is just horribly wrong. I'm pretty hyped to play Galaxy again.

Mario 64 looks nice, though the controls still feel so very off to me. Been a while since I've played it (though I watched my daughter play the N64 version). Going to try for all 120 stars for the first time!

It was originally King-a Bowser but they spliced the clip for some reason. You can apparently tell if you look at the audio file. And that's apparently why we're left with just the "ga" part of King.

Walmart used Fed Ex to ship my package. Unfortunately, Fed Ex is a pain to work with; my buzzer doesn't work and they don't leave packages unless you specifically authorize it on the slip they leave to tell you they didn't leave the package the first time.

Anyway. I guess I wait until... Tuesday? That's what it says on the slip.

64 and Sunshine have aged terribly.

This has been an eye opening experience. With how crisp stuff like Odyssey and 3D World are, these are just bad.

I'm kind of shocked at how much trouble I'm having getting into Galaxy without the dive.

I had literally never though about it, but I subconsciously played 64 and Sunshine by jumping and diving through the stages...constantly. Like how people roll in OoT.

And every time I spin instead of dive in Galaxy I lose my mind a little.

as long as you can get the upper right red coin legitimately, the rest are super easy to get with the hover nozzle and manipulating where you land.

always important to remember you'll land in the middle slot every time if you just don't touch anything after launching up

Mario 64 has some really cool levels.

But it also has some really terrible gameplay design. "oh you got hit by fire? Guess you're just going to die in one hit because it automatically sends you into a bottomless pit." "Oh, you want the red coin? Bettter be careful how you turn around, otherwise you might end up walking into a bottomless pit."

What's really been killing me is how the B button for 64 and Sunshine got switched to Y. And they just made the B button an extra jump button why?

still just a few hours into sunshine (35/120 so far) and it's apparent how much better it is than 64 in every aspect.

I just got a few shines the other day, but I was finding the controls for Sunshine to be super awkward. I'll probably go back to it in a while because I have fond memories of the game, but for now I've switched to Galaxy.

I like Sunshine the same way I like Majora's Mask and Metroid Prime 2

They assumed you already played the previous entry and don't try to dumb it down a bit for new players. The level of difficulty just pretty much just picks up right where Mario 64, Ocarina of Time and Metroid Prime left off.

64 plays so awkward now after years and years of better Mario games.

Sunshine has been pretty decent so far. Feel like Im struggling a bit with some of this FLUDD stuff though.

You can get used to everything, but 64's camera has absolutely aged horribly, although it's alright in the Bowser levels and a very few other places.

I mean, I love the game from a perspective that knows how far it advanced the genre, but it definitely came at the cost of not aging too well.

I've played a good bit of all 3 here, and definitely think Sunshine feels the worst to control. Haven't had any problems at all with 64, and I haven't played it in....before the GameCube released, for sure.

64 though... yikes. It's just not fluid at all. Half the time I step off a ledge trying to turn around.

To me Mario 64 gets better each year. I didn't love it in 96 but now I wonder if it might be the best game ever made

I literally just played through 64 not even a month ago on an actual emulator and now I'm playing through again here. It's really a game I can never get tired of playing.
