This is one of the few "craft" beers I routinely see and buy at supermarkets here, I fucking love this beer. I used to drink their Torpedo in Australia but don't see it much here.

its good and widely available. Even the most podunk shithole bar that otherwise only serves coors and bud lite often has it. Always a good standby in a pinch. And their Oktoberfest is always good too.

Not to change the subject too much. I read Ken Grossman's(Founder of Sierra Nevada) book earlier this year and the dude is a pretty down to earth guy.

It's a highly respected beer, but it's not very hipster at all. It's probably the most accessable true craft beer aside from Boston Lager.

sierra nevada is basically an entry level craft beer for people who who mostly drink mass market beer. available pretty much anywhere, not very polarizing taste, relatively affordable etc

Sierra is a good one.

I was trying a lot of New Mexico craft beers during my phase of that.

La Cumbre, Marble...

Sierra is a good back up if I can't find any lagunitas.

It's not bad, almost all of the beers I regularly drink are from local breweries but I won't turn down a Sierra Nevada

Been a professional brewer for six years and I stand by my opinion that it's among the very small amount of "craft beer" that's actually good.

Do people actually consider Sierra Nevada Pale Ale a "hipster" beer or microbrewery / craft beer?

lol

and I think it tastes awful, but I hate IPAs in general.

Entry level but still pretty good, and I'm usually not a pale ale fan. I have to be in the mood for astringency.
