Anyone else feel the same? It's like they intentionally make sure that every update yields worse results for the browser

Only complaint I've had with it ever is moving the "close other tabs" option into a sub-menu

Firefox has a huge problem with pushing major codebase rewrites before it's actually ready for the wild.

Pale Moon is my favorite browser as far as design philosophy goes, but it just feels so slow these days and more and more websites don't work with it as well anymore.

One of the newest annoyances is they removed the drop down arrow for the address bar.

So now let's say I want to quickly go to amazon from the tab I'm on and quickly middle click to open a new tab, nope I have to make a separate tab then type amazon.com

I don't like the new update and it broke a lot of my add ons, but the most important ones are working again so I am getting over it. I understand they have to update things for a variety of reasons and it's free and functional unlike Chrome which is unusable on mobile unless you want your entire experience to be ads and scripts blocking you from viewing content.

It can still install uBlock Origin so it beats the alternative.

but... firefox has literally been trying to copy chrome's layout for the past decade. Not once realizing that the whole reason its userbase is so loyal is because it's different.

In Firefox the useful stuff is in the top left and not hidden behind a couple of dots on the opposite side like Chrome, that's good enough for me.

alt button opens up an actual goddamn menu bar. Chrome and Edge don't do that.

Every browser except Brave, it found, shares details of users' browsing history with the companies that own them, along with identifiers that indicate the location or identity of the user.

@Lanzol The CEO of Brave, Brendan Eich, made political contributions to opposing LGBT rights in California and to political candidates who opposed LGBT rights. Mozilla made him CEO in the early 2010s and then people got hella pissed off and some of the board members resigned in protest. He was only CEO for 11 days and then stepped down.

Don't know what's happened to him since then, doesn't seem to be a lot of information about his personal/political activity since 2014.

@Turbam Check out Vivaldi, made by the original Opera developers, has a lot of cool features (and some... kinda useless ones but w/e lol). Still Chromium based.

I've had virtually no problems with Firefox for years. Still secure, no memory leaks, excellent add-on support. There was some security cert. issue that happened a couple years back that needed a manual workaround for a couple days so that was annoying to deal with.

I'm for sure looking at the desktop version when I get home.

I have had some "fatal" glitches in Vivaldi on mobile that make me not use it there... for instance, if I press the Return key to add a space in a post, then the keyboard disappears. And if I use symbols like semi-colons or something then the message box stops showing me any new text that I'm writing until I close the keyboard -_-.

It is lighter on the battery than FireFox Mobile is for sure.

I prefer the Desktop version though, it's really well-built and, just like in good old fashioned classic Opera tradition, was implementing features other browsers didn't have (like being able to manage your Instagram account as if you were accessing it from a phone).

I still use FireFox even after that Mr. Robot add-on scandal :|

No memory leak? Now that can't possibly be true! Memory leaks have never been that much of a problem for me but isn't firefox/chrome infamous for it
