Of course I'm talking about the Lancaster riots. This is no George Floyd or even Jacob Blake situation. A crazy guy rushes a cop with a huge knife, gets shot and BLM riots because the cop was "trigger happy and racist". Because of course. Riots have been normalized to the point where the initial reaction is for people to riot even in situations where it makes no sense to riot. Sweet. So from now on whenever there's a shooting, even if it is completely 100% reasonable, countless innocent people and businesses are going to get their property destroyed because....racism or whatever. Delightful.

Simple fix..."Yea, murders like Breonna Taylor and Tamir Rice aren't cool and those people should be facing consequences"....but for some reason that can't happen and it causes people to lose all hope in law enforcement in any situation.

Already happened in Chicago, when people were spreading around the rumors that some young kid being shot, before engaging in widespread looting and rioting. Then it turned out to actually be some 20 year old who pulled a gun on police.

This has never been about justice for them. Just a bunch of people looking for even the tiniest excuse to steal and cause mayhem. Even as early as the George Floyd riots, a man who was caught and arrested when looting a store admitted it was more about the money than George Floyd dying.

The same thing happened in the Michael Brown case and the evidence and witness testimonies backed it up. All this anti-cop hatred was based on a media lie and many others since.

Honestly its not simple at all to get the public to trust the police even if they start doing things right. Problems that have existed for this long dont leave cultural consciousness very easily.

the overall perception won't be easily changed, but the first steps are simple. stop covering up for lies and clean house. give people a reason to trust cops. when you have murderers in uniform lying in reports and getting let off without even a slap on the wrist people are going to lose trust. it takes time to build trust back, but further breaking that trust won't help matters.

Even if you want to go that route, there is no data that supports that narrative. Police kill about 1,000 people every year, in the whole country, total. That is not a big number. And most of those killings were at least somewhat justified. A quarter of the people killed were black (last year only 14 were unarmed), but that's because they largely live in cities and most crime tends to happen in urban areas. There are 12,000 police departments, half a million cops, and over 60 million police interactions per year in the country, and you're trying to tell me that they're murdering people everywhere and covering it up?

Nah, while a lot of cops have abused their power and abused / murdered minorities for far too long a lot of these riots have nothing to do with opposing the corrupt "justice" system, systemic, institutionalized racism, or even reparations. These rioters aren't doing what they do to survive or anything remotely just, they are just greedy animals that want anything remotely resembling a excuse to try and justify acting like fucking thugs and being able to benefit from it. Fuck the rioters and their supporters. I've got no love for the government either, but they've got us all in shackles and there isn't much we can do without a lot of money and potentially throwing our lives as "free" men away.

Honestly this. I will NEVER trust or respect the police, or the broken "justice" system that allows them to basically do whatever they want consequence free. They did that to themselves. The police no longer get the privilege of the benefit of the doubt.

georgia supreme court hearing a fun case about 3 cops tasing a man to death. they'll get off, because even if the supreme court finds the charges valid the case will be sent back to the lower court judge who said they were just doing their job; the cops will ask for a bench trial and it'll get hand waved away.

I didn't say they weren't involved in criminal activity. In fact, I pointed out that they are looting while white people are burning shit down.

Yes, there will always some there, but most of the videos are like 90% white and 10% black.
