OMG, so I just woke up (yeah, it's 5pm, I was up late/early lol). I casually got up, used the rest room, turned on my comp, checked this board/emails etc.

Then I decided to look outside and see what it's like today.

The smoke is so bad it's like pea soup fog. I'm north of Olympia in WA, and I heard yesterday there were a few fires along I5, but there must be a big one around here somewhere cause it looks like something out of a steven king "The mist" novel out there right now.

I wonder if giant insects are gonna attack next?.

I'm gonna do a search and see if there are any fire warnings, cause I'm surrounded by trees out here, like literally they come up to the house on both sides (even the front only has a small area to park cleared of trees and then a very steep road going up through them.

It was amazingly pretty the last few nights with the red sun/sunsets, but this is not pretty, and even with the windows closed I can taste the smoke in the air (I've been coughing a bit).

UGH, glad I at least BBQed everything yesterday so I don't need to go outside or grill anything.

Update, I looked it up and there is a Mnt Lena fire, 20 acres big started 2 hours ago.

So that is where all the smoke is from. On the plus side it's over a body of water from me, so probably can't spread here.

There was even a (small) fire outside my work. Firefighters came while I was on lunch break, and I was tempted to go out and ask them if it was a boy or a girl.

Your smoke was coming up here btw. Up to at least an hour north of the border. I heard it was two fires, and the smoke started on Tuesday morning.

Yeah, I think that may be from fires further north, but some of this smoke might be from there as well.

You would imagine this much smoke would need to originate really close, but I guess it's so many fires that it's spreading everywhere. My roomates thought it was fog lol.

really bad near Beaverton, OR. definitely can smell/taste it inside now. 3 straight days of smoke day and night

Or an industrial strength fan to blow the smoke towards Hawaii, then they have one to blow it farther west.

Last week the Evans Canyon fire reached to just the other side of the Yakima river from where I live in east Selah/Pomona. The sky was red pretty much all week. Scary shit.

I originally asked if its from Cali tbh. Their smoke gets up here sometimes too.

Yeah, things seem to have cleared up a ton in a few days. Still smelled smoke last night but it's not hazy out anymore.
