Choose your own adventure type games. Would I enjoy the yasuka series? I loved the saints row/gta aspect.

2nd question : in remarks to choose your own adventure games. Is L.A. Noire any good? I enjoyed Detroit and the life is strange series

Do you mean "Yakuza"?

I wouldn't say they're similar. They're more like a collection of mini-games strung together with an overall plot and fighting mechanics (the Saints Row comparison is kind of apt, but even more so).

LA Noire is definitely more of an "interactive" film sort of feel, but you're not really choosing your own path because the same story plays out no matter what you do (you can deliberately be as terrible as possible at solving cases and still make it to the end of the game - Funhaus on YouTube actually did a playthrough like this as "The Idiot Detective"). The main gameplay element is trying to investigate and interrogate suspects effectively, thus getting a higher score for each case (the game grades each case from 0-5 stars). But there's no real benefit to getting a perfect score, or drawback to failing, so you can kind of wander through cases as casually or determined as you want and still get the exact same story and ending.

The main complaint about LA Noire is that the actors tend to ridiculously overact their "lying" faces (which was kind of necessary, due to all the mo-cap and digitizing faces in), which makes interrogations fairly easy. But then awkwardness between the "Doubt" and "Lie" options can complicate things (sometimes, the game wants you to accuse them of lying to get them to provide more details, but some times you have to literally confront them with evidence that proves they're lying, and it isn't always obvious which one is the correct choice). In-between, you can explore the city in a very GTA-inspired sort of sandbox (with terrible driving controls, because it's the 1940s). And there's a few mostly annoying shootouts because gun mechanics are kind of shit.

It's a fun game if you know what you're getting going in, and it's the sort of thing you actually want to play. But if you expect more out of it than it wants to give, you can easily be disappointed.

The only games from Telltale was the Sam & Max games, back when they were on Gametap. Remember Gametap, which was like Gamepass before Gamepass was even a thing?

I remember seeing MarioFanatic in those forums.

And then Gametap got sold out to Metaboli, completely went to absolute shit, and Season 3 never released on it.
