I've finally gotten around to watching Arrow and eventually The Flash, but I heard the shows cross into eachother time from time? Is there right way to watch them? Or does it not matter?

The first buncha seasons were pretty good I guess, but I stopped watching both eventually (maybe season 6?).
But yeah I'd pretty much watch arrow first till you get to the point where he kinda spawns the flash (they basically cross over right then), then you can pretty much just alternate between them, and then eventually it'll cross over with Supergirl and you can basically watch all 3 if you want (along with Legends of tomorrow). --- Tacobot 3000 "Saving the world from not having tacos." Arrow came first, and flash started in arrow's third season iirc. They do crossovers in both series. I think the correct way to do it is watch the first two seasons of arrow then switch between shows on an episode by episode basis, but I stopped watching the show in season 4/season 2 and never got into the rest of the arrow verse.

Yeah, it might have been the 3rd season of both, but eventually they both get hella depressing lol, so I just couldn't keep watching em.

The Flash realized after season 3 that it was never meant to be too dark or depressing. Season 4 got a lot lighter and more positive, especially with the introduction of Ralph Dibny.
