I remember pops was really interested in the first UFC game and even sat down to finish the tutorial. Little things like this stuck with me because he was kinda distant from me so I cherish the moments we almost became close.

Left us a few years later tho.

My mom played Mario Kart 64 with us once.

She managed to get knocked out of bounds on Moo Moo Farm.

I have never seen that feat replicated.

Pretty sure they never got past 1-2 on Mario 1 and even getting to the second level was a huge milestone for them.

No. They never did.

I mean, they weren't against me playing games and they bought them for me when I was a kid. So it's not like they thought I was wasting my time with them or anything like that. They just weren't into them.

I have watched some eSports with my dad, though. He's kind of taken a liking to watching Rocket League.

My mom and grandma played Sonic 2, Super Mario Land and Tetris when I was a kid so I watched them play it sometimes (was too young to be any good at games). When I was a teen and had a DS my mom and I would play Animal Crossing and fight over a high score on Tetris.

I wish. Id of loved if my parents showed interest in my gaming hobby >_>. Maybe not as a young kid,but now it would ve interesting.

Then again, I have such bad patience in games. I been playing games with my niece regularly. Im good at making it fun and providing good laughter all throughout. But man, do I nag and get impatient between the laughs. I address it, so it's not uncomfortable, but I couldn't stop it if I wanted. Im kind of proud of her for continuing to focus on the fun we have instead, cause she can be sensitive with others. But with me, it's kind of like she's ok with my minor frustrations and just accepts that it's gonna be what it is. She just laughs at the playful moments. I kind of encourage her to laugh at my frustrations too, so that it doesn't get in the way of her fun.

My dad loves games from the early 80s time frame. Pac-man, Galaga, etc. He's also super into pinball.
The first game system I played was his Atari 5200 at age 2. He would play with me up through the N64 era but mostly stuck to fighters like Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct.

They're who I got my gaming from.The only reason I'm really familiar with the Super Nintendo is because my mom had it before I was born. My dad is where I got my passion from.

My dad used to play Contra with me on NES. And we used to play Mega Man 2 together. And on Genesis we would play Madden against each other.

my pops and I used to play Super C on the NES. he still loves to tell the story of how I would always steal his men (lives) so I could respawn, so he had to look up the infinite lives cheat lol

My dad played contra and Mario with me back in the day but didnt move on with me past the snes. I tried to get him to play guitar hero back around when that was a thing and he enjoyed it as he likes classic rock/guitar, but hes not very coordinated and played on easy was a struggle for him.

i feel like a lot of parents from that generation floundered when it came to dual stick movement
