Yeah, people act like being a starting-caliber QB means you're good.
In fact, many or even most starting quarterbacks are not.

All EA has to go on for ratings is how Kaepernick played on the field, which was generally pretty good and definitely better than some one like Trubs.

Interesting timing, hasnt Madden been getting a lot of backlash about the game that just came out. Maybe this is their way for people to stop talking bad about the game.

While this is clearly EA going, "see, we're woke!!!!!1!!", Kap should still be a player in todays nfl.

but on topic - his last season in madden he was like a 71. 4 years later without playing a down hes an 81? And his best skill, running, would be severely hampered given his age.

this is a virtue signal.

You're highlighting a single game doesn't help against my theory. All players have bad days. This just proves you're not above cherry picking to support your claims. Still not saying he was good. This is just a terrible way to prove it. Just makes me believe you didn't use his overall average because it would work against you.

I am a fan, and I have watched him in multiple games, and i'm in about 3 fantasy football leagues per year which is an ideal way to track stats, watch a wide variety of games and players play, and become familiar with more players in general. He had many more bad games than good. He doesn't have the ability to have a dominant final drive in the game. He's an average at best passer, because his speed was supposed to make up for it, but his smarts as a quarterback to lead the game and have good enough field vision failed him, and that's why he inevitably became a 2nd string.

I wanna disagree with you. Kap was always good. The thing is he didnt have a good coach behind him. (With the exception of Harbaugh) Plus he didnt have all his weapons with him. You add those factors in, and you can see why his numbers went down. He is good. He just didnt have a coach behind him.

nah, guy was bad. Harbaugh was smart enough to mask his deficiencies. Then harbaugh was smart enough to bail the inevitable sinking ship that was Kap.

Thats b.s. that you need to be good to get to a superbowl. Rex Grossman made it to a superbowl. He was never good. And Kap was awful in his last season in the league. Teams realized he couldn't read a defense and destroyed him because of it.

People still don't seem to understand why cherry picking is bad for their side. It's the most obvious tactic of the bias. Mabus cleaned his up at least and honestly, he got too much into detail, so I backed out. If I can get around the argument by noticing tells and identifying habits and shady tactics. I'mma just step back and try to learn more about specifics of the arguments. So far nothing gas really pursued me one way or the other. I just see one side still resorting to shady bias tactics. But that doesn't mean that sides wrong. Just means they got more people with alternative motives.

He should be in the game, sure.

Having a better overall rating, after not playing for 4 years and not being very good when he last played, than half the starting QBs in the league, including last year's first overall pick who had a decent year on a bad team, is stupid and reeks of trying to get social justice points

This is all true.

I appreciate the good that he is doing for a community and movement and hope that he continues to do good things but as far as football is concerned, he was a questionable to bad player, and that was 5 years ago. This rating is a joke.
