Male characters are still generally called Mary Sues as well. Some people try to make Gary Stu catch on, but it doesn't really. Mary Sue is just more the catch all for the perfect overpowered character that can do no wrong and in no way earned their way to where they are regardless of gender. There would still be the same complaints though. Rey/Finn literally discovers the Force is real the day before using the Force like someone who has been formally trained in it and fights with a lightsaber against someone who has been using one since he was a child. And since people will,bring it up, no fighting with a staff is not the same thing. Different weight distribution and different techniques. I mean even using a sword is not the same thing as their is no weight to the blade in a lightsaber to counter it. Thats why only Force users can use it in battle because they use the Force to keep from flailing it around and hurting themselves. Of course Disney had to shit all,over the lore just because.
