What is your favourite Soulsbornekiro game

Basically the topic title. I've played through Dark Souls, currently playing through Dark Souls 2, and have DS 3 and Bloodborne on the list. Watched my roommate play Sekiro a little while back, and that looked quite fun as well.

Between DS and DS 2, I'd have to say (so far) that I enjoyed the first one more. I don't dislike the second one (though fuck a few areas I've been to so far, Black Gulch and Shrine of Amana in particular), but I just remember certain fights in DS1 and they were incredible. Also, bringing back the Bell Gargoyles was an awful flashback move lol. For reference, I just got to the Dragon Aerie in DS2, and haven't done any DLCs yet, so those who played through the whole game can kinda figure out what bosses I've killed and which ones I still have left.

Feel free to discuss any and all of the games/your opinions of them!

Boodborne > Dark Souls > Demon's Souls > Dark Souls 2 ~ Dark Souls 3

Haven't played Sekiro yet.

Get the DLC for every game, especially Bloodborne and Dark Souls 2.

Sekiro doesn't belong with those others but if you do include it anyway:

Bloodborne > Sekiro > DS1 > DS3 > DeS > DS2

Bloodborne > Dark Souls > Dark Souls 3 > Dark Souls 2

Haven't played but will soon-ish: Sekiro
Haven't played but probably will if that remake happens: Demon's Souls

All extremely good games, but Bloodborne would be in the mix for my Game of the Generation / Decade/ whathaveyou which is a claim the others can't quite make even if I think they're all exceptional.

DLC exceptional for all of them as well. Best for Bloodborne but I'm not even sure I can rank them for the Souls games because they're all exceptional and contain my favorite fight(s) in their respective games alongside just being great in general.

The Artorias fight in DS1 is one of my favourites easily so far!

That fight is one of the best in the entire series for sure.

Yeah DLC for all in the series are fantastic. From really knows how to look at their game, constructively figure out what works and doesn't work, and improve on the base game while cutting what they dont need.

Its hard for me to rank em other than DS1 at the top. Currently replaying DS3 for like the third time

From absolutely always brings their A game to their dlc. I'm still upset that Sekiro never got an expansion dlc because there's so much you can do there that would be incredible. There's even a character mentioned in the game that they could build it around! I can only hope that they're saving all their great ideas for a sequel.

They've just taken their entire team to work on their best game yet, Elden Ring

I hope

I'm not at all convinced that Elden Ring actually exists in any meaningful form

Bloodborne (+DLC especially, it adds the monumental boss battles that the vanilla game lacks a tiny bit). It's perfect. It's the first one I beat (but not the first one I played) too. The others are also very good, but Dark Souls holds up less with time I feel. Dark Souls 2 has always been fun but flawed (and very underwhelming boss battles in the main game) and Dark Souls 3 is fantastic, but unoriginal. Demon's Souls is a raw diamond that's easy to break and Sekiro is way too different to really compare.

I woulda voted for Bloodborne but knew it would get the easy victory, so voted for Sekiro instead.

Honestly I have trouble deciding which one I like more now, if Sekiro had gotten some kickass DLC like the rest then it would be my easy favorite. See I'm what they call a parry king even though I suck at it half the time but when I'm on point oh man what a thrill. It's the only game where I've succeeded in a no damage fight against the "final" boss.

I say "final" bc it was the Shura ending, no way was it the real final boss, I'm simply a parry king not a god

BB > DS3 > DS1 > DS2 > Sekiro > DeS

I go back and forth on DS3/DS1 and if I were to play the remastered version of 1 maybe that flips. And every single game here is great and has a respectable argument for being the best.

Also hot take: DS3's DLC is actually Not Good! But despite that I think there's a lot of polish on the game mechanics that edges it out over DS1.

Friede and Gael are among my favorite fights in the series and pretty much propelled DS3 over DS2 in my mind in what had been a close race/slight DS2 lead for me until then. =(

are among my favorite fights in the series

I agree with this! But they alone can't make up for the rest of the bosses being among the worst, and the sheer obnoxiousness of the level design. I love the aesthetic, I like at least some of the lore, but the levels themselves sucked. It really felt like they tried to make "the Dark Souls of Dark Souls" and all the best and especially worst parts of the series are represented in the DS3 DLC to the extremes.

And for the record I do think the DS2 DLC is extremely good, probably the best of the lot
