Mario is too common. It's easy to disassociate it from video games just due to how many people have it as a name.

I'm assuming we're trying to name things that are actual legit first names and not just iconic character names.
Also, the examples in that TVtropes page are a little silly, since many of the names are exotic enough that it's unlikely anyone would randomly use them again.
