It won't get reduced.
How would undercutting their entire organization not reduce their income?

Because piracy will never be stopped no matter how much you try. So no income will be reduced.

Just because it never goes away entirely doesn't mean you can't take steps forward, steps that would reduce their income

Piracy will probably never be completely dead but they definitely knocked a huge dent into it after going after the big sites like pirate bay. Not much reason to pirate now though since music has pretty much been made free by streaming services like Spotify and YouTube. And movie/show streaming services are pretty cheap as well

Pretty sure you have to pay for Spotify if you want all music. YouTube is only generally a few songs legally. Most of the music on there isn't officially channels.

Well I guess if you remove piracy websites then countries without any legal sites will have to stop pirating.

I pay for Spotify because I'm a music nut but most people I know have the free version and are perfectly happy with it. And many others are fine with paying 10 a month for unlimited free music. Then there's also the convenience that comes with having spotify rather than the steps you have to repeatedly go through to pirate music and transfer it to a listening device

Out of everyone I know, there's only one guy I know that still pirates stuff. Its very much niche these days

Ok... unlimited music for 10 bucks a month. 5 if you're a student. Anyway, my point is that pirating used to be commonplace but now it's extremely rare

Ironic, considering how many accused Disney of going "SJW."

But placing this on some sort of subtle racism by Disney is silly. Virtually everyone agree's Finn's character STARTED as interesting/had promise. But then Rian Johnson absolutely ruined his character, as he ruined everything in TLJ. There wasn't a lot left to salvage by the time RoS came out.

So, he can join the club.

John Boyega WAS a diversity hire, which ended up being one of the few interesting new actors in the franchise.

Disney then tried to make him disappear because their Chinese overlords didn't appreciate a black person having any sort of presence in a movie that they have to air in China.

Figures from The Economist:

Chinese box office in 2005: $275M
Chinese box office in 2019: $10B

And that's taking piracy into account. The U.S. box office has been struggling for a while and gradually shrinking, whilst the Chinese box office has been exploding.

So, yes, Hollywood is pandering to the Communists. :-P

The thing about China is that it only shows a certain number of foreign films a year so anything that can make it into theaters will do well and companies will go out of their way to try to get in there.

It's still ridiculously commonplace.

He *really* wasn't, unless they revamped this character in Rise of Skywalker or whatever. That said, the sequel trilogy didn't introduce that many new characters and pretty much all of them kinda sucked.

In his defense -- and given that he's unapologistically racist, I'm not overly fond of defending him -- he was given a fucking terrible character. He was a stormtrooper who defected on his first mission. There's like no character build there.

Define ridiculously commonplace. Because I dont think thats the term I'd use to describe less than 5% of the population
