There's precedent for this happening before; Cold Stream was a community map that has had several iterations in the game.

I'm hype. One of my favorite games ever, plus this means they could be gauging if there's interest in a L4D3 (given how far out and out of nowhere this is).

L4D2 is fairly high in the top 100 for such an old game. When I played with @WafflehouseJK a few months ago we had no problem getting games

Didn't they port all the maps from 1 into 2 so you can play them with the new special infected?

There is almost no reason to play 1. You can play the first game in L4D2 pretty much.

Theres even mutations that let you play in L4D1 mode

Theres a few people that make a stink about not being able to see your legs when you look down or the pistol models being different but those are extremely minor things to care about

2 is completely superior, character and map wise. And it has way more mods so. Only complaint I have about 2 is the Spitters goo hitbox being BULLLLLL SHIT.

Idk I never have a problem with Spitter goo... like Ive been clipped by it a few times sure but usually its used by someone who doesnt know how the class is played, or by someone who knows how to plan with the pinners

Well from what I understand, The Last Stand was a stand-alone survival map from the first game that never got ported (I know No Mercy also had survival maps ported, not sure about the other campaigns). Anyways as far as we can tell its being fleshed out into a full campaign. There were 27 people on valves testing servers for months, and before Valve hid the map name they were playing, there was a lighthouse in the map name - the same lighthouse from The Last Stand survival map from 1

Valve did profit sharing on TF2. Not sure how its handled with L4D2 because theres no MTX.

their "profit" sharing is is they keep 70% of the money and the remaining 30% is split up between the artist in the lootbox. Imagine defending paying people less than minimum wage for their labor. I bet you're the same type of person who laughs at people when they ask artist to give them free art for exposure, but hey for valve it's okay!

The maps arent paid content. You can buy stamps that support map creators and all of the money from that actually goes to the creators. Its the cosmetics that have revenue sharing.

imagine believing this. Valve always takes their cut. If their a community to milk, they will milk it in ways ea, activision, ubisoft, and epic can't even dream of. And people like you will defend them for it.

This is pretty cool. I never played Left 4 Dead 2 on PC until this year. Went through all the campaigns with my cousin and my friend except for Cold Stream. I find the game to be pretty damn difficult on Expert though.

Played the hell out of both games on 360, like a ridiculous amount. Been hoping for a third game for forever, but you guys know how Valve is with 3's.

I'm curious if this is just the survival map, or if they somehow made it into a full blown campaign? Would feel kinda pointless if it's just the survival map, as I'm sure after all this time, someone already modded it into the game, no?
