I like the Star Trek where theyd all sit around at a table and discuss whatever problem they were facing way more than the action Star Trek we get nowadays

ST09 and STB were both pretty enjoyable movies.
The problem is largely Kurtzman (who is cancer) and Star Trek: Into Soy. --- You're a regular Jack Kerouac Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez For President, 2024 ... Copied to Clipboard!

Hmmm.
JJ Abrams Star Trek? 1 fairly good, 1 shit, 1 mediocre. But he's only technically responsible for the first two, so net score, 0. JJ Abrams Star Wars? 1 okay, 1 hot liquid feces, 1 terrible. But he's only directly responsible for the first and last there, so net score, something like -0.75. Prequel Trilogy? Okay, all three bleh. So... net score, probably something like -2. Which would put it lower than both the other two if we're only considering the JJ Abrams contributions... but if we're comparing "trilogies" as a whole, Into Darkness and Last Jedi pull their respective trilogies down enough that I'd be more inclined to list them like this instead: New Trek >> Prequels >>> Sequels Sure, the Prequel Trilogy is pretty much crap across the board, but the Sequels as a singular entity are easily the worst of the three. Given the choice, I would happily watch either of the other two LONG before I would ever choose to watch the Sequels ever again. Regardless, I can't really call him my "lord and savior" when his overall average borders on mediocre at best, and he's still indirectly responsible for two of the worst movies in two respective franchises. Even if I can't convict him for it, he's still an accessory. FrozenBananas posted... Without him we wouldnt have LOST or Philip Seymour Hoffman in Mission Impossible I don't really count either of those two as positives, either. --- "Wall of Text'D!" --- oldskoolplayr76 "POwned again." --- blight family ... Force awakens is way better than anything in the prequels, but Last Jedi is way worse. And Rise of Skywalker is just regular worse. So overall, prequels > sequels.

yeah, I loved TFA when I saw it in 2015 but in retrospect and in the context of the whole series, it kinda sucked
