Some years ago, somebody here was promoting his stuff and I watched a bunch of his videos over the course of a few months. He had some interesting insights and made a few good points (although a lot of it was just low-hanging fruit complaints about government), but he has like this whole little cult thing going with his viewers which kinda alienated me a bit and the libertarian stuff got to be a bit much. I somewhat wonder why he was banned (not enough to sit through that video), although from the context of what I know from his videos I imagine it's from supporting law enforcement going after BLM.

...jfc, just checked his wikipedia page and man did the left did a hit job on him. I also realize that some of my impressions of him kinda having a cult might have been influenced by outside exposure or propaganda, given how much the wikipedia page pushes that angle.

And his remarks about how SJWs systematically target ideological opponents seem prophetic, considering that seems to be exactly what happened to him. Groups pressured platform after platform to get rid of him.

From what I watched of him, he's a hardcore libertarian. As for the left vs right spectrum, he complained about both sides pretty heavily as it related to libertarianism so it's possible he's centrist. The brunt of his criticisms on social issues tended to fall towards the subject of personal accountability/responsibility, which in theory should be universal (but I guess in practice the notion is disliked by the left). He was also big on the idea of the family unit, which I suppose is also more of a right-leaning thing than a left-leaning thing.

Given his anti-civilization stances he's more of an ancap, but that is on the libertarian spectrum.

Well, I wouldn't call him even left leaning... he unironically used an ice sheet over a lake metaphor with no self-awareness of his own attacks of the 'glass ceiling'

Even then, I probably would not silence him... I did have to listen to the podcast to learn I don't like his positions at all

who?

Stefan Basil Molyneux (/stfn mlnju/; born September 24, 1966) is a Canadian far-right, white nationalist,[2]white supremacist,[3] former YouTuber and podcaster, who is best known for his promotion of conspiracy theories, scientific racism, eugenics and white supremacist views

Needless to say Zeus was quick to come here and defend him, so while I know nothing about him that fact alone is enough to make me think wikipedia is probably accurate about him.
