GT didn't even feel like the same series due to having no input from AT, so it felt like bad fanfic issues. If you liked the Goku Black arc, I'd recommend reading the manga version too. It's a bit different and you might find it even better. I agree about ToP being a blast, and Frieza during that arc is possibly the most entertaining character across both DBZ and Super. But I miss the blood, sweat, and tears of DBZ. There was a feeling that the characters really had to work their asses off to get to where they needed to be. ToP was mostly faceless nobodies we didn't care about or even remember. GT was just a slog and a half for me and really was just a waste of time. Plus, Super fully embraced Yamcha being a joke.
