No. If there's something about a state you don't like you can just move. America is big enough to give you choices.

depends on what it is about but for major things yes. Like voting laws. A state recently made it possible to take voting rights away from protestors. That should be illegal in all 50 states

Well in that case what the state did is made protesting without a permit in front of a state building a felony, and at least in that state being a convicted felon means you can't vote. So that's really a broader issue about whether or not felons should have the right to vote.

Yes and no. Federal law should exist as a sort of nationwide minimum for assorted guidelines, rights, regulations, etc., but that states should be free to enact additional protections or regulations that can very much vary from place to place, just as individual counties are free to have their own standards as well.

In other words, states can enact laws provided that they do not conflict with federal laws, and counties/municipalities can enact laws provided that they do not conflict with state laws

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

Beat me to it. They made it a felony, punishable by up to 6 years in prison. Which is crazy for a non violent protest. The not being able to vote is just a side effect of the already existing laws regarding felons.

Why not?
same reason the EU shouldn't decide literally all laws for its member countries.

If the laws were sensible and didn't restrict freedoms, maybe.

As long as boneheaded legislators keep trying to introduce shit like heartbeat bills though? Hell no.

They should, and theres no reason for them not to. They pay taxes, and the entire country was founded on the premise of if we pay taxes we should have a say. Not letting felons vote is just another aspect of the American slav- I mean, prison complex.
