Board 8 > Why am I suddenly getting dry mouth at night?

Ive lived in the northeast my entire life and never had an issue with this. Then I stayed in Florida for a few days last month and started getting dry mouth every night. Id wake up in the middle of the night craving water. Then I moved to Louisiana about a week or so ago and ever since the dry mouth remains present at night. Im assuming it has to do with the change of weather somehow?

Anyone have any ideas, or how I can fix this?

use an app to see if you're snoring at night. Over time you may have just begun to breathe through your mouth more when you sleep thus resulting in the dry mouth.

It must be low tide in your mouth, as the Moon on the roof of your mouth is causing the saliva waters to recede.

The air is literally "different"? Maybe it's "heavier" and you're having a hard time breathing through your nose so you're using your mouth to compensate?

Do you notice anything else when you wake up in the morning like still being tired, headache, stuffy nose, etc. that you weren't having before?

I know this will sound stupid but it's actually a thing; try lightly taping your mouth shut at night to force yourself to breath through your nose. You could also try those breathe right strips for you nose to help open your nasal passages.

Ive definitely been trying to breathe through my nose more as I sleep. It works a little bit. Sometimes Ill wake up with a raspy throat that goes away before long. Its just weird that it is happening to me when it isnt a common thing for others.
