for me its been shit lots happening to friends

my PC died (hard drive I THINK is ok so it could be worse but still)

gona have to move (not a rent issue other things that are to personal to go into)

so yea even on a personal level 2020 sucks

Personally I think 2019 was worse for me. 2020 I just stayed inside all year. I left my house for the first time this year yesterday. Kinda went ghost this year.

i still have my job and ive not been affected health wise so far, i guess its been okay on the important issues

but my mental health has taken a hit because of the lockdown, not being able to see family and friends much, and also whats going on in the world (e.g. BLM, populism, far right, etc)

sucks that i was supposed to go on a few holidays, gigs and festivals as well but that got postponed

Generally decent to good.

But the overall state of the world and politics makes the personal positive experiences far less important.

Pretty good. The government has so far given me over $13k to sit at home and do absolutely nothing. I've paid off all my debt and bought a bunch of expensive stuff I've always wanted and the money is still rolling in and I've still got about half of what they gave me left. Might invest a few thousand in Amazon or something next.

in general extreme paranoia and depression that affected me a few years ago creeping back into me and the only thing keeping me from completely snapping like I did then is making shitty disingenuous posts on here

Could be worse. I'm no longer talking to or hanging out with my only IRL friend, but they would hardly talk to me before all this anyway (except when we would hang out obviously) except to try texting and calling me around 3am when they were having anxiety.

A mixed bag. On one hand thanks to stimulus money and overtime I'm better off financially than I have been in a long time. However I am always working, maybe one day off a pay period if I'm lucky. I don't have much free time to do anything. My body is feeling the effects of all the work, once I plop down in my chair after work it's hard to get up.

Other than that you throw in the constant threat of infection, the two straight months of near 100 degree heat, and the horrible air quality of the last two weeks from the local wildfires and I kinda wish things were shut down again.

Im enjoying it. Probably one of my favorite years in a long time, ngl lol.

• Was right about masks all along even though this clown world mocked me for encouraging mask use
• Still have a job. Still getting paid and dont even have to actually work.
• Got out of a lot of social obligations
• Got back into videogames which I havent done in years
• Getting back into anime
• Basketball is back
• Get to hang out with you guys despite a lot of you seemingly dislike me for some reason

tbh a very comfy year

I broke my leg 12 weeks ago and it still hurts bad, is healing slow and i can only walk 10-20 metres without needing a crutch cause my knee is also stuffed.

Awesome, I've been isolated, studying and working out for months.

I haven't played video games this year or watched a lot of tv or porn, it hasnt been a perfect road but shedding easy dopamine habits has helped me stay focused and productive.

The things I was looking forward to have all been delayed due to corvid
Just a truly god awful year and that's sad because I started the year off watching Anderson Cooper get giggly wasted in Time's square live on camera thinking it would be a great start to this year

Working from home was nice, then I was laid off for a bit, the extra $600/week was nice, now I have another remote job, a bit of a pay cut from my old job but with less expenses (traveling, gas, food, etc). All the bars and restaurants were closed for so long, even with them opened back up, I'm out of the habit of eating out so often and saved (and continuing to save) a ton because of that. That's having a real positive impact on my health as well. All things considered, 2020 is actually going well for me and my family. And most people I know who live in my area actually agree... >.>

Trash, just waiting for a breakthrough. I've been catching up on my hobbies but I don't really care about any of them. I just want to go to the store without the anxiety or be able to date and meet new people.

Not so great, mentally. Physically too, the lack of gym time and time in bed sick from covid and the flu deteriorated my gains.

Financially I'm doing great though, made a boatload in stocks this summer. And socially, I feel my social circle is smaller but I have a much stronger connection with my friends.

I moved in with my fiancee towards the end of 2019, so having this year living in what is for me a nice rural area and not feeling unsafe has been good.

Health wise things have been rough, for both of us. I'm having more focal seizures and feeling increasingly slow and fatigued as a result. They're struggling to eat proper meals and are pretty much completely bed bound now and I'm acting as a carer.

Lot of stress over covid with schools and having at risk kids and loved ones.

I've got much more into films than ever before, I've watched around 350 so far this year. That's been good.

I put out an album for the first time in years. Also got into making sound collages that have got a positive reception from a handful of people.

That's about it I think

Full of highs and lows. I used to think I'd hit my stride in my 30's, but with everything the way it is, I'm starting to think that everything is going to suck forever.

I'm discovering that I should be kept away from all alcohol if I want to live a sober life, because I will drink any alcohol I have unrestricted access to regardless of if it's appropriate for me to drink it or not. But I'm surrounded by people who drink. One of them drinks daily, and another binge-drinks on their day off until they're basically sick.

I would never kill myself because it's too painful, and as much as living brings me emotional pain, I enjoy and savor the experience of being alive. But there are times where I hope and pray that something goes horribly wrong in my life and kills me instantly so I can stop living. And the points at which I savor life the most always give way to depressions so low that make me wish I had never been born.

Maybe I drink so much to induce blackouts, because that's the closest I can get to death without having to deal with the consequence of non-existence afterwards.

So yeah, basically life is fucked at the moment.

Pretty good tbh. I've made huge progress with my drinking problem and am now over a year sober. I've lost a bunch more weight and am closing in on my goal weight. I'm in a good place with my family. My financial situation is pretty good, all things considered. The only downside is that I've not had sex in over a year now, I burned bridges with anyone I could feasibly hook up with (thanks to sobriety), and I'm not about to go out and look for casual sex while sober in a pandemic. I'm not complaining though.
