Used to prefer cash, but debit/credit if I was paying more than $30 at a time.

With the coronavirus, I've forgotten what paper money is.

I'm kinda surprised that credit is the most common. Guess I just didn't realize.

Poor credit, lack of discipline, or live in a country where credit cards aren't the norm.

For some people credit cards aren't worth the potential pitfalls

To use a credit card requires keeping a closer eye on the finances which is extra work so people say fuck that.

Okay to be fair I'm a little privileged in that regard. I've never had to worry about finances in my life.

Not because I'm rich --far from it-- but because my cost of living is so low

Credit and paying it off by the next statement date is the only answer (unless you're unable to manage credit for whatever reason).

You get an extra month before having to pay it off vs debit/cash, and if your credit card is compromised, the bank will spring to action immediately to resolve it, because it's their money on the line. When it's your debit card, they can take a few weeks to resolve it, and you're often out of that money while you wait.

And credit card give points, miles or cash back, which make them even more valuable. (Very few debit cards offer rewards.)
