Decided to build the Omnath deck on Arena. It's a dumb as advertised.

Yeah, the only things I really needed were the DFC lands, which Ill use anyway, and Cobra/Omnath, which Ill get reimbursed for when they get banned lol

Omnath is gross, and I won't miss it is if goes. I suspect the Cobra stays because it doesn't ramp as hard not does it do as much work. Omnath can also be the win condition in and of itself, plus it has made all non-Ugin planeswalkers basically unplayable. While the Cobra is enabling it, they still haven't really dealt with the problem that makes WURG so easy to get in standard and getting rid of the Cobra doesn't do a whole lot to change that.

Yeah, honestly after putting some reps in with the deck, it actually pretty hard to pinpoint one single problem card. They all work together in a way that makes them all an issue. I'm not sure how many of the linchpins you'd need to remove before it collapses, but I'm fairly sure it needs to be more than one.

It is even harder to pin point a single problem card now that it has morphed into Temur Adventures... If you have a Cobra on the field you can search with Fabled Passage then have enough to (Petty Theft) off of Brazen Borrower X Lucky Clover.

Opened up a prerelease pack, was kinda nice since it came with two additional draft boosters and one set booster. Notable pulls include a foil alternate art Scute Swarm, Moraug, and a Lotus Cobra.

If you're trying to play party then yes, Green is pretty much trash. Each of the other colors has a strong relationship to one class and a decent second class, green does not. It can pair up well with more than just Red, but you have to find other synergies (ie landfall for white or kicker for blue).

I think white probably has the highest concentration of multiple parties, but yeah highest focus on clerics. Plus there's at least the one common colorless card that can fill any role.

Uro is 100% going. I think at least Omnath also needs to go but Im not convinced theyll pull that trigger yet.

Genesis Ultimatum and Escape to the Wilds? I really do think Omnath is gross because it's the ramp and the payoff in one card, but it's a Mythic in the newest set. WotC hates banning money cards from the newest set. Oko had to be banned because it was broken even in Modern, but I'm not seeing the new Omnath warping non-rotating formats (yet?). Without Escape and Ultimatum there are definitely fewer plays that result in ridiculous payoffs.

I dont think Omnath is too unreasonable a ban - there are plenty of other new cards that can sell the set. And honestly? I dont think Omnath was intended be a Constructed staple chase mythic.

Other than that I think it's just Uro's time. Everyone seems to be sick of that card so just let Historic be the Arena format with Uro and move on.

F2p on arena? I think that's easy as long as you're prepared to play a single deck or two for a while.

I played like that for a year and can essentially make most meta decks now.

Yea F2P is fine as long as you do the daily quests for gold and hold off on making new things.

The Walking Dead cards are terrible though. They should've pulled a Godzilla and just made them a skin.

I've been considering quitting myself. But for me its not a state of the game thing. I just find myself a little ill-suited to the luck factor of card games.

I'm gonna try spending my gold on drafts instead of packs for this set and see how that holds my interest. 7-2 on my first try though! Of course my limited rank is rock bottom for now though.

Limited-only is the way to be. Just have a couple scrub decks to grind out your dailies if you need to, but trying to climb the constructed ladder is an exercise in insanity.

So, they banned Uro. Uro was used in Sultai control, one of the few decks that was standing up to Omnath. Guess who's going to keep eating your lunch in standard.
