Between 2016 and early 2017 (feb) My wife became sick, we spent 6 months trying to get her better before she died, Trump became president, my car was stolen, most of my furniture, my wife's paintings and tons of other stuff was stolen. I was diagnosed with cancer (recovered), I lost my cat (like a daughter to us) and eventually lost my job because I helped out a friend.

Nope. Some years or better and worse than others sure but the worse year of my life up to this point was something that actually effected my life and that was in 2006 when my sister died of cancer at the age of 26. Nothing has come close to that yet thankfully.

I remember John Oliver's "fuck you, 2016!" video at the end of the year where he hoped 2017 would be better, and immediately thinking, "you know Trump's reign starts next year, right?" Even if you like Trump...Oliver obviously didn't, yet he put out that video... The level to which people were blind and fucking naive thinking some celeb deaths made 2016 "the worst!" was pathetic

I feel like 2020 is a spinoff of real life.
