Great game that kind of flew under the radar. The game's free on Epic right now as well.

I kind of want to get it, gave me some minor Secret World vibes with the monster and world design.

Don't have anyone to play with though.

Also is there anything like a homestead or base to upgrade? I really love that kind of functionality in games >_>

The game is on-sale on Steam for 40% off. I was tempted to get it, but I've got so many other things to play.

No, it doesn't have anything like that. But the game is still incredibly fun. A lot of people describe it as Dark Souls with guns, and you will see the similarities to it for sure.

Also, the game is still quite good solo, so you don't necessarily need anyone to play it with.

The game was a fun third person shooter variant of a soulslike but man did it love cheesing you by swarming you with infinite adds during boss fights. Also there is a bit of jank here and there and not the most aesthetically pleasing game, but was definitely fun for sure.

I wouldn't really call it cheesing. The fights are mostly designed in a way that the add spawns at least make sense. It might feel like the game is just throwing them at you at random, but it's not the case. I think the early part of the game doesn't give a great impression because it's a while before you can really expand both your weapon and armor pool. And right out of the gate you are likely to get at least one potential boss where adds are a major part of the battle. Shroud and Gorefist can both be pretty tough for a newcomer, and you're probably going to fight one of them.

As far as aesthetics, I think the game looks pretty good. Rhom especially.

I haven't gotten far enough to say yet. Just did the first dungeon, which was decent. More puzzle oriented than most dungeons are.

Yeah. I don't mean the adds as a complaint because that's just how the game is. Being the first soulslike to give you guns as a primary way of damage means they have to throw some kind of challenge at you that's different. Im more saying that it's a bit of a trap for souls vets and I remember it being a big complaint at release time by many. I like it tho. Keeps you on your toes and forces you to be more aware of your surroundings instead of just tunnel visioning.
