It's biggest flaw is the lack of checkpoints in missions, so failure can sometimes set you back very far. The gun mechanics are noticeably worse, and driving isn't great though not as bad as I worried it might be.

But other than that, I like how the difficulty scales a lot more. The addition of those mutant guys in 3 was overall a bad idea, and combined with flying stuff made the game feel too hectic. Despite that, 1 is actually harder even though it feels more fair.

The story is more interesting and the different plots for the different gangs you fight are way, way more fleshed out by the halfway point than any storyline in 3 ever gets

I've heard 2 is the best in the series but I've only played 1, 3, and 4. 1 was cool but it also felt very generic to me. 3 and 4 just went off the deep end a little too much but were fun mindless games.

From what I heard 2 would be right up my alley but I dont think it's on current consoles and I dont want to plug in my 360 for anything.

2 and 3 are pretty equal for me.

1 is ok, it's jank as fuck and hadn't quite established its own identity yet instead of just being GTA Clone #32. 2 and 3 are where it really becomes Saints Row.

I've heard this before, but saints row 3 still feels like GTA clone to me. It's just goofier. That said, I do appreciate the over the top set pieces and scenes. I kind of prefer the more grounded feel of 1 though, hoping 2 is more like that

Thanks bro but I already bought it for 360; my GF has an xbone and it's backwards compatible. Cost me 5 bucks which I'm cool with even though free would be better

Yeah that's what I've heard and what I'm hoping. Can't exactly explain why but 1 is just more my speed despite some gameplay limitations. It's not even that I dislike 3 to be clear, like I got into this game because of it so obviously I'm a fan. But some if it is the humor in 1 is more subtle, still obvious but not as reliant on spectacle. I guess that goes back to establishing character; that dude (dex?) who hates 'the Los canales' is funnier than any one in saints row 3 just because of that. What even is anyone like in sr3?

Saint's Row 3 is like Saint's Row 1 and 2 on PCP and shrooms.
