(SPOILIES AHEAD FOR ENTIRE TOPIC)

Lol

I just stopped about 2 hrs in, where they are about to fight

I haven't seen this movie since watching the theatrical version in theaters. So far the Ultimate Edition isn't changing my opinion of it very much

I dont think having more movie would solve any of the problems with BvS. Feel the same way with JL.

There are some very minor things about BvS that I like, but the majority of things, constantly remind me of how they flubbed this entire universe, and how bad this movie is

I saw the regular edition last night on TV. It gets bad by the end, but it's still fun to me.

This scene was amazing.

Sure. I think the Batman scenes in BvS are cool but I really dont think Ben Affleck is all that great as Batman. And I think Superman has just been awful throughout the entire continuity. I think there was something good going on with Wonder Woman. And I think some parts of Lex Luthor were good if it had been any other villain other than Lex. But there's so many things fundamentally wrong with the movie's writing that I don't think any of it works particularly well. And that's not even getting into the cinematography >.>

They could have slapped anyone into the batman costume and it'd had worked. And using a older one was a huge mistake. Batman being human and keeping up with God's is hard enough, but old on top of it? No.

Zack refuses to write superman as a normal human, who understands people, smiles, jokes and just acts normal. Hell he barely talks at all throughout the entire movie and we literally never hear this thoughts and opinions in regards to anything happening around him.

And it doeasnt help matters that like 90% of the movie is forgettable filler. Longer isnt always better.

My favorite part was at the end of the movie when they realize they need the kryptonite spear to kill Doomsday. So instead of Batman jetting off to go retrieve it, they instead decide to lead the rampaging monster through the entire city.

I heard there were a few cut scenes that actually made Superman seem likable, instead of an unrelenting mass of impotent angst in a dull suit. Is this true? >_>

Gosh I'm so flipping peeved at WB for wasting Caville. The guy shines through a couple of times, but you can only do so much with that material.

I remember reading an amateur review of the movie when it came out. The guy said that he thinks Zach Synder is just fundamentally bored by the character of Superman. The only interest he has is if Superman is the villain and the studio isn't going to allow that.

The weird thing is... They could have legit got there if they took their time with their universe to build up the superheroes and create a story that eventually led to Superman being a villain ala Injustice. If they had taken their time and fleshed out each hero and established a universe first, they may have been able to reasonably create a circumstance to turn Superman evil that WB would be ok with.

But they rushed everything about this universe and bumbled it so fucking hard

The entire place was abandoned. Bruce led him there specifically because no one was there.

Was anyone actually hyped for this? I remember this mounting dread as we gradually learned the Lex Luthor casting, the Justice League cameos, the inclusion of Wonder Woman for seemingly no reason, and the inclusion of Doomsday. The majority of DC fans I knew were not hopeful about it at all. Literally the only redeeming thing any of them agreed on was that Wonder Woman's role actually turned out to be really cool. >_>

yes here on CE and on the movies board back in 2016. i distinctly remember a lot of fools echoing the sentiment "it has batman and superman. it'll be worth watching for that alone"

of course the DCEU turned out to be a ginormous cinematic flop and is getting reboots upon reboots. the DCEU fanboys vanished and those remaining are trying to revise history and pretend they were never hyped at all lol

Its funny how this scene ends, Montage of Superman being heroic and cut to him in plain clothes being annoyed by the tv.

There should have been a 4th wall-breaking after-credits scene of that shot. Superman finishes watching BvS and then annoyingly throws down the towel.

Hell it has a little meme potential, just replace what hes watching on the screen.

He sees the bad special effects for the mustache in JL
He sees the low ratings for Justice League
He sees the news about Ben Affleck dropping
He sees the news about himself dropping out

Answer is both yes and no. Cavill did have more screentime....AS Clark Kent doing Daily Planet things but it was all completely irrelevant to the story because Lois Lane is still the driving force to move the plot forward.

Yes it soooooort of fills some of the dumber plot holes the theatrical version had but overall, it's still a horrible mess; just a longer one.

Seriously, this. Zack's incredibly immature, middle school idea of a human character is one who does nothing but brood and sit in their own misery quietly and never makes an attempt to empathize with others

Hmmmm.

He must read this board a lot.

At least we got the awesome warehouse scene. I don't really care for any of Snyder's DC movies but I'd be lying if I didn't say I'd be curious to see how he'd handle an Arkham style Batman movie.

I saw it at midnight release. I thought it looked awful but I felt obligated to see it, as a fan of Superman. At 3 AM when we were heading home we were all pissed at how much the movie sucked shit and kept us up for nothing. I honestly couldn't tell you a single thing I liked about the movie

One thing I liked was in the beginning when Bruce ran into the dust/smoke. That was a cool visual and something Bruce would do.

That said, it was really stupid because Bruce Wayne does not have super powers. He may be peak human conditioning, but running into that much smoke and not ending up with some kind of breathing issue at the very least, is just dumb.
